Yellowstone Spinoff With Matthew McConaughey in the Works; Kevin Costner to leave the drama?!?

We have some big news related to one of the biggest shows on television.

And here’s the news:

Yellowstone may be coming to an end.

According to Deadline, Paramount may be canceling the top-rated show on network TV due to scheduling conflicts with lead Kevin Costner.

Kevin Costner is at the center of Yellowstone. But this situation cannot last for long.

Costner plays John Dutton on Yellowstone.

He recently won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for the role.

Paramount also has its popular Yellowstone prequel series, 1923, currently starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, returning for a second season.

Averaging 8.2 million viewers a day for Paramount Network, the drama is a bigger hit than any scripted show on the broadcast or cable networks so far this season.

However, insiders told Deadline that Costner – who originally limited himself to 65 days of shooting on Yellowstone – only wanted to shoot for the first half of season 5, 50 days.

Besides, he only wants to film for one week. Complete Season 5, which is set to air its final batch of episodes later this year.

This stance is reportedly frustrating to creator Taylor Sheridan and causing tension between Costner and stars Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham.

As a result, Deadline writes, “Paramount Networks has rejected Costner’s most recent offer and instead decided to move [another] Show.”

Yes, another show:

Multiple outlets, such as The Hollywood Reporter, now say that Matthew McConaughey is in talks with Sheridan for a spinoff series.

The rumor has spread so quickly on the Internet that a spokesperson for Paramount addressed speculation about both Costner and McConaughey on Monday.

“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a huge part of Yellowstone and we hope to remain so for a long time to come,” says the network.

“Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on expanding the franchise to this incredible world she has created.

“Matthew McConaughey is an extraordinary talent we would love to partner with.”

doesn’t seem hard NoIs this?

The first half of Yellowstone season 5 wrapped in January after eight episodes.

Sheridan, meanwhile, is working on two additional spinoffs.

The first, 1883: The Bass Reeves Story is set to follow the real-life cowboy story that inspired The Lone Ranger.

A second show called 6666 will explore the history of Four Six Ranch, where Jimmy Herdstrom (Jefferson White) is working on Yellowstone.
