From comedians to athletes and three men named “Chris,” Witney has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Witney joined the Dancing Pros lineup in season 18, and though she’s only won the coveted Mirrorball trophy once, she’s come very close to winning countless times before.
To be fair, there are many who would argue that they have been robbed of the top prize more than once!
When? Dancing with the Stars Returning in 2024, she will be paired with retired football star Danny Amendola. Danny knows a thing or two about coaching, as he is currently an assistant coach for the Raiders.

Witney Carson’s first partner was a teen heartthrob
When Witney Carson first stepped onto the dance floor in season 18, she was on the arm of Cody Simpon. The couple was great for each other and made it pretty far in the competition.
They ultimately came in 9th place, behind that season’s winners, Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
But that wasn’t the only time she danced with Cody that season. During the Switch Up episode, she also danced on the floor with Drew Carey.
Witney wins the Mirrorball trophy for the first (and last) time
In season 19, Witney was paired with Alfonso Ribiero. This couple was unstoppable! Week after week, fans loved their routines. Even today, Witney admits that her favorite routine of all time was when she did the Carlton!
The pair won the competition, taking first place, and this cemented Alfonso’s place in the DWTS family. Now, he hosts the show alongside Julianne Hough!
A series of crises and setbacks
After a stellar performance that season, Witney was paired with Chris Soules in season 20. Their pairing did well and finished in 5th place. They lost to Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy that year.
Since then, Witney has been paired with two other guys named “Chris.” In season 24, Witney was paired with Chris Kattan. Sadly, they finished in 12th place. Dancing with the Stars: AthletesWitney was paired with Chris Mazdzer, but they too couldn’t make it very far in the competition.
Looks like he hasn’t had any luck with these three! But soon his luck will change!
Top 5 Contenders
Though there were a few other missteps along the way, for the most part, Britney was paired with excellent dancers and consistently placed in the Top 5 year after year.
In season 21, Witney was paired with Carlos PenaVega. They finished in fourth place. Then, in season 25, Witney was paired with Frankie Muniz. They finished in third place.
Then, he was robbed for two consecutive years!
In season 27, Witney was paired with Milo Manheim, and in season 28, Witney was paired with Kel Mitchell. Both times, she finished in second place!
No offense to Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten, but she and Kel were awesome! We really thought she was amazing!
Whitney’s not so good partners
Of course, luck always plays a part on DWTS. Sometimes you get a boybander or a star athlete.
And then sometimes you get Vanilla Ice, who bumped Whitney to 10th place. 10th place?! Outrageous!
Then, Witney was paired with The Miz in season 30. They finished in 9th place. Another bad thing.
Also, in season 22, Witney was paired with Von Miller. They finished 7th/8th in a double elimination, but to Von’s credit, we think he would have gone further that year if the competition wasn’t so tough.
Witney Carson’s partner in previous seasons
The last time Witney Carson competed, she was paired with comedian Wayne Brady. The pair did well on the show, scoring a set of perfect 10s for their samba in week 5 and again for their salsa in week 8.
But he still managed to not get eliminated even after scoring a perfect 10. For example, in week 10, he was voted out despite scoring a perfect 10 and came in third place.
Sometimes she just falls apart like that! But hopefully she’ll have better luck with Danny!
