who went home dancing with the stars tonight?

The new season of the beloved reality competition show got off to a bang, with several couples scoring 20+ in their first round.

Then things got interesting, with not one but two stars eliminated right from the start.

Of course, fans have their favorites now, rallying behind their favorite Olympians, reality stars, and even convicts.

But someone has to go home, and honestly, the next contestant being eliminated probably wasn’t that shocking. (Don’t worry, there will be time for that later.)

Who went home tonight on ‘Dancing with the Stars’?

It was another double success on the dance floor. And this time, the bottom two actually went home.

Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater and Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart all performed their final dance on 8 October.

Eric said of working with Britt Stewart, “I have never had a better working experience in my entire professional life.”

Meanwhile, Emma Slater gave Carl Winslow – yes that’s his name, come at us – a hug as they left the stage. “I won because I found a new friend here,” she said before leaving.

Who went home last week?

Last week, the world watched the Vice Presidential debate, so the show was pushed back a week.

That’s why, for the first week, it was a double elimination. While many had placed their bets on Eric Roberts and Carl Winslow, eh, Reginald got the boot, they both ended up safe.

No, it was the women who ended up on the chopping block. Tori Spelling and Anna Delvey, who fans wanted eliminated immediately, were both eliminated.

Which was probably a good thing. When Julianne Hough asked Anna what she’d miss about this experience, her answer said it all:

“Nothing,” Anna replied.

Obviously Anna does not have time for this. Anna doesn’t have time for you.

We feel bad for Tori, though. This would have been a good incentive to return.

Last week’s top scores

The dancers brought a lot of spirit to this week’s first performance. On Monday, the gang took to the field for Soul Train Night and things remained status quo.

Chandler Kinney and his teammate Brandon Armstrong finished first with a set of 39, finishing at the top of the pack.

Jane Tran and Sasha Farber surprisingly reached second place, earning 35 points for their song “Fallin'”. And Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson placed third with a backflip.

So, right now, this Bachelor Nation contestant is the loser!

Also surprising was the continued improvement of Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater, who actually made Carrie Ann cry with their foxtrot. But they were the ones who started crying because their marks did not make them that happy.

But in the end, once again, Eric Roberts and his partner Britt Stewart were dead. It can be said that he was unable to find his feet.

How are the Scores calculated

Here’s how the scoring works. The winners and losers are determined based on the combined score of the judges and audience votes. Therefore, whatever score Bruno, Carrie Ann and Derek give the contestants only counts towards 50% of their total score.

The other 50% is calculated by audience votes. Fans can vote online or by text message to save their favorite couple. The one with the lowest combined score is eliminated.

Now the show used to have an element called “Judges Save”. Executive producer Dina Katz told TVLine that the judges’ save — which had been in place since Season 28 — was at least in the eyes of danceThe creative team is minimizing the impact of audience votes.

“I think it should be about America,” Katz said. “And at the end of the day, sometimes the judges’ defense is not what America wanted. And [eliminations are based on] Half the judges and half America vote, and that’s why we did it.”

Who will win ‘Dancing with the Stars’ this season?

After 33 seasons, it might seem like it would be easy to discern the winners from the losers from the first dance.

But historically speaking, the star who scores the most points in his or her first dance rarely ends up winning outright. Last season, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy—finished in 5th place after their first dance. And, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev came in third place after their first routine two years ago.

After all was said and done the Mirrorball walked away with the trophy.

So who will win this year? We’re going to predict a top 3 of Jen Tran, Stephen Nedoroschik, and Chandler Kinney.

But we leave room for changing your mind as the season progresses!
