According to a new report, Wendy Williams is bored of the small screen.
As most celebrity gossip fans are well aware by now, the former talk show host has battled a number of health concerns over the past several months – both emotional and physical.
Her show was canceled nearly a year ago, after a season in which Williams never served as host again due to her longtime Graves’ disease diagnosis… with rumors of a mental decline.
There has long been talk that Williams is suffering from dementia.
Recently, however, Williams has been out in The Big Apple and sources now tell The Sun that she is looking forward to a return to television as a result.
“Wendy is filming a reality show,” this outlet reported a few days ago:
“She reached out to New York celebrity hotspot Fresco by Scotto and a producer who handed out non-disclosure agreements to patrons.”
It looks like Wendy’s hasn’t made any real deals with any real networks.
“It didn’t look like a crew hired by a network, it felt like a very home-grown reality show,” The Sun insider insisted.
“It appears it will be a show about her life after The Wendy Williams Show.”
Shortly after losing his show, Williams teased the start of the podcast in a way that left fans confused and worried.
As far as we know, she never really went through with the idea.
Back in October, Wendy checked out of a wellness facility and her publicist said the following to Entertainment Tonight:
“Wendy is excited about the road ahead and looks forward to releasing her many projects.”
Williams herself then added: “Thank you my fans for all your love, support and so many prayers.
“I’m back and better than ever.”
In the meantime, when her talk show was given the axe, and Sherri Shepherd hired full-time to replace her, the production company behind it gushed over the beleaguered host as follows:
“We all have great love and affinity for Wendy, who grew into a true icon during her 12 incredible seasons as the solo host of a live, daily talk show Dishing On Hot Topics and interviewing celebrities.
“Since Wendy is still unavailable to host the show as she continues her path to recovery, we believe it is in the best interest of our fans, stations and advertising partners to begin this transition now.
“We look forward to being able to work with Wendy again in the future, and wish her a speedy and full recovery.”
