For Ethan Plath on the latest episode of this TLC reality show, it went a little something like this… Welcome to the next stage of life, friend!
In fact, friends, the star met a girl named Lily in the September 24 installment of the series.
“There’s probably a little bit of chemistry,” the 26-year-old said to the camera after line-dancing at the beginning of the episode.
“I guess I can feel it a little bit, but I don’t know if it’s just me reading that or if it’s for real.”
It actually must be, to some extent… considering that even Lily sits down for confession at one point.
She admits she feels a connection to Plath after the two sang together many times at bars.
“At first I thought these were two nice guys, but then I thought, [it] “I think there might be some flirting going on there,” Lily tells the audience.
Ethan and ex-wife Olivia divorced in February.
“Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Olivia wrote in a chilling statement on Oct. 27.
“I have some vague memories of being 18, when we had innocent dreams of being together forever – but the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live in, and at 18 I had no idea who I was or what kind of life I wanted to create for myself.
“Seven years later, I have begun my journey of questioning, deconstructing, and rebuilding, and I know this is a process I will continue to prioritize for the rest of my life.”
She later also claimed that she was set up to marry Ethan.
We can’t comment on this claim, but we can say that it appears Ethan is finally moving on from his ex-wife.
“I never thought someone this beautiful would be here tonight, but I guess I’m going to take my shot,” Ethan said to cameras Tuesday night and then revealed he asked Lily for her phone number … and she gave it to him!
He added: “The dancing was a total success. I can’t imagine anything could have been better tonight.”
Olivia, for her part, has made it clear that she has left Ethan far behind.
He revealed during a Season 6 episode that a man had told him to “go home and meet my cat”, and then spend the night with the same man.
Do more than just pet your cat.
Following the incident, Olivia moved in with her current boyfriend, Brendan, whom viewers met during the Sept. 17 episode.
“We’re together now and we’re looking at our future and we’re planting flowers and you’re the person I want to do all of that with,” Olivia told Brendan, who added that she’s the person “I want to be with for the rest of my life.”
