On Day 4 (Tuesday, December 17) of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, Rohit Sharma resumed India’s innings with KL Rahul at the other end. After the duo completed a tight race, Rohit was heard telling Rahul that he had stopped in the middle.
The confusion almost caught the Indian captain outside his area. During the fourth over of the day, bowled by Mitchell Starc, Rahul defended a delivery towards mid-on and pushed for a single straight away.
However, Rohit Sharma at the other end was unsure about the run and stammered as he was hesitating. Rahul pushed for a run and Rohit had no choice but to commit and had to dive to reach the finish.
Fortunately for India, the mix-up did not cause any problems as Rohit made his crease with the dive. Once the tight single was completed and Rohit stood up, he was heard saying:
“Mai ruk gaya that yaar (I had stopped).”

Rohit Sharma failed to impress with the bat once again after a poor score (10) in the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 at The Gabba, and departed soon after surviving the scare.
Rohit Sharma’s Test woes continue
Rohit failed to score big in the ongoing third Test against Australia and was dismissed for just 10 runs. However, they have struggled with the format since the home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Against Bangladesh, the right-hander managed 42 runs in four innings, while against New Zealand he scored 91 runs in six innings. While he missed the first Test against Australia in Perth, his return to Adelaide was not fruitful.
Rohit scored 3 and 6 in Adelaide in the two innings respectively. The Indian captain’s form in the longest format remains a concern for the team.
