Trimac acquires Watt & Stewart flatbed transporter

Canadian shipper Trimac announced Friday that it has acquired flatbed transporter Watt & Stewart for an undisclosed sum.

Watt & Stewart is a 38-year-old specialty hauler with a fleet of 124 tractors and 205 trailers operating from locations in Claresholm, Alberta; Lexington, South Carolina; and San Angelo, Texas. The company primarily serves the mining, forestry and manufacturing industries.

It will continue to operate under its current banner and management team as part of the Trimac brands.

“Watt & Stewart is an extraordinary company with a proud history and we are honored to continue its legacy as we work together to reach new heights…” said Matt Faure, president and CEO of Trimac in a press release. “Together, we are better positioned to serve our customers and drive growth throughout North America.”

Trimac operates more than 140 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The deal closed Wednesday.
