What a difference a few weeks can make.
On the recent Season 4 premiere of 1000-Lb. Sisters, Tammy Slaton was reduced to tears when she tipped the scales at 717 pounds inside an Ohio rehab facility.
It was the most he had ever weighed and put his health in serious danger.
It also made it impossible for the reality star to go under the knife for gastric bypass surgery.
7 episode of the same TLC series, though, we learn there are steps Slaton had to take in order to be approved for the procedure — and then we learn he achieved them!
“I need to get to 550 lbs. for me to be approved for surgery,” Tammy says in a clip provided by People Magazine.
“Until then, I hate being on the scale. My biggest fear is gaining weight. I don’t want to let my family or myself down.”
Tammy then steps on the scale in the footage and the doctor reveals she is down to 534 pounds. Very good!
“Bitch, are you serious,” says Brother Amanda with a big smile on her face. “Really? Tammy, you’re watching!
Tammy was told earlier that she had to get below the 550-pound mark in order to qualify for the aforementioned surgery, which sister Amy had done years earlier.
“When I got to the scale and saw it was 534.7, I stopped breathing for a second,” says Tammy. “I’m like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a big drop.
It is certain.
“I did that!” She moves on in thrilling clips.
“I feel thrilled, proud, excited – just all the feelings. I proved everyone wrong. Everyone who doubted me, finally I got mine! My so-and-so moment!
In her confessional, Amanda fumes at the news.
“This is what we have been waiting for. This is what we have been working for,” she says.
“Tammy’s made a round of weight, which could mean she’s finally going to have surgery. She’s finally going to get it and the future is looking good.
Actually, this episode was filmed sometime back.
As you can see in the photo above, and in other recent social media uploads, Tammy has since gone under the knife — and looks absolutely amazing.
“I know they have to get approval from a lot of other doctors, but the way I see it, before we ever see those guys, they had to reach the weight loss goal that Dr. Smith gave them.” and Tammy did,” Amanda concluded, slyly adding to her sister:
“She’s going to do a lot.”
