As previously reported, Tammy Slaton has done just that.
The seasoned reality star has achieved a weight loss that many can only dream about, losing an astonishing 500 pounds over the past few years.
However, it was not easy for him.
“I take a lot of pictures, a lot of selfies, not because I look good — okay, I take a few — but mostly because I want to remember how big I was, what I looked like,” Slaton explained via TikTok on August 27.
“And I’m like, man, I was huge! I lost 500 pounds. I can’t sit in this chair.”
This is true.
Over the past several months, we’ve seen Slaton accomplish one milestone after another.
Slatten then discussed in detail the challenges behind his journey.
“I think I was trying to focus so much on losing weight that I lost myself. I forgot who I was and I started drinking alcohol instead of food,” she confessed in the same video.
“At the same time, I was still eating. So I was doing both. Damage in two different ways.
“It’s so easy to fall back into bad habits and gain all the weight back, but then what was it all for? Waste of time, waste of money, wasted effort.”
Later, we will see Tammy and her sister going through similar struggles in 1000-lb Sisters Season 6.
It seems things got a little dark for the ex during this time.
“I had a lot of inner demons that I had to fight, and I’m still fighting,” she says in this new footage.
The longtime TLC personality concluded the clip with a hopeful message for her fans who may be going through their own health struggles.
“You are not alone,” she said. “You can do anything once you put your mind to it. Never give up.”
In addition to her comments in the TikTok video, Tammy also shared an optimistic message in the caption of the post.
After revealing that his life has been “full of ups and downs,” he added that he’s “proud” of his accomplishments … and of course he should be.
“We are all in this together and I believe we should take each other forward, one day at a time,” he added.
“So, join me as we embrace the ups, downs and everything in between. Let’s keep moving forward with love and positivity!”
