Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday; the gains of the sectors, and drove the indices higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the dollar gained 0.44%, hitting a new three-month high.
The best value of the session was General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:), up 9.97%, or 4.85 points, to close at 53.50. Following were EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:), which gained 9.87% or 6.10 points to close at 67.90, and Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:), which gained 8.58% or 6.30 points, until ending the session at 79.70.
At the bottom of the index was Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:), which fell 10.00%, or 8.80 points, to close at 79.20. It was followed by Cub Elecparts Inc (TW:), which fell 8.41%, 9.50 points, to close at 103.50, and United Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:), which was down 6.30%, 0 .63 points, until finishing at 9.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered rising ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:) shares rose to all-time highs; rising 8.58% or 6.30 to 79.70. United Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:) shares fell to 3-year lows; losing 6.30% or 0.63 to 9.37.
Crude oil for February delivery rose 0.84% or 0.62 to $74.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities, Brent oil futures for delivery in March rose 0.71% or 0.55 to hit $77.60 a barrel, while gold futures for delivery in February fell 0.71% or 0.55. 06%, 1.68, to $2,663.72 per troy ounce.
USD/TWD rose 0.28% to 32.87, while TWD/CNY was unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
US dollar index futures rose 0.02% to 108.39.
