Swedish Public Prosecutor’s office close investigation into alleged sexual assault charges against Kylian Mbappe due to lack of evidence: Reports

Swedish prosecutors have closed their investigation into alleged sexual assault charges against Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé. According to reports from his home country of France (via El Nacional), the charges have been dropped due to “insufficient evidence.”

In October, during the international break, Mbappé was in Sweden, having been excluded from the French team due to health problems. He spent some time in Stockholm, where an alleged rape incident occurred at the hotel where the 25-year-old was allegedly staying.

Despite numerous reports directly linking Kylian Mbappé to the situation, the Swedish prosecutor’s office has not confirmed his involvement. The 25-year-old took to social media after reports emerged about his involvement, calling it “fake news”:

“FAKE NEWS!!!! ❌❌❌ It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance 😉”

However, the case has now come to an end, and prosecutor Marina Chirakova states in a letter (via El Nacional):

“There is not enough evidence to continue with the case… During the investigation, a person reasonably suspected of rape and two cases of sexual harassment have been identified, but I consider that the evidence is not sufficient to continue with the procedure and, therefore “The investigation is closed.”

While Mbappé was in Stockholm, France beat Israel 4-1 in their Nations League group stage clash on October 10 at the Bozsik Arena. The blues They followed it up with a 2-1 victory over Belgium at the King Baudouin Stadium on 14 October.
