So much happened that it’s hard to know how to summarize.
But since Season 19 begins in September 2024, and there’s been a lot happening off-screen in the time between airings, we thought it might be useful to catch up on where things left off.

Sister Wives 18 Recap & Summary: Most Shocking Moments
Things started off poorly from the start, as Kody talked about his breakup with both Christine and Janelle.
By Episode 3, Janelle and Kody were at each other’s throats. She accused him of “gaslighting” her and Kody accused her of turning their kids against him. After an argument around Christmas, Kody stormed off in anger, vowing to cut Janelle out of his life forever.
The two rarely spent time together after that, but Janelle found an ally in Christine, who had ended her marriage to Kody just a year earlier.
Speaking of Christine, she begins looking for the “opposite of Kody” this season. She returns to the dating scene for the first time in decades. First, she seeks the help of a matchmaker before diving into the online dating scene. That’s where she meets David Woolley, who fans officially meet at the end of the season and then meet in more detail in a two-part wedding special.
And then there’s Meri. It’s clear that her relationship with Kody has been, to say the least, nonexistent for years. At the beginning of the season, while struggling with her mother’s death, Meri is also contemplating what she wants to do next with her career. She has her own clothing line and now owns the BnB her mother left her.
And this is when things get out of control.
Meri and Kody break up on season 18 of Sister Wives
In episode 11, Meri revealed the shocking truth about her marriage to Kody. While celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary, Kody told Meri over dinner that he had “no desire to be in a relationship” with her anymore. Since it wasn’t on camera, fans didn’t get to see Kody’s brutality, but they did see Meri’s devastation in the aftermath.
She actually revealed that Kody told her, “I never loved you. I just tried to reinforce that.”
Knowing that Kody is ready to end their marriage, Meri begins planning to leave him and move to Utah and stay at her mom’s BnB. But Robyn tries to convince her to stay put.
In fact, Robin was hoping Meri would agree to this so she could find a partner herself. Robin notices that Kody is becoming “different”
“I don’t feel very stable with him,” she once said.
But in the season finale, her attempts to save Meri and Kody’s marriage fail. The two confront each other on camera, but Kody is unwilling to say all the things he told Meri in private.
“You want something we can’t have together,” Kody tells Meri, while Robyn watches in tears as she realizes she’s about to lose her last sister.
Kody spoke about them being “friends in departure,” but as fans well know, that’s not happening.

How many episodes are there in Season 18 of ‘Sister Wives’?
The initial part of the season contained 14 episodes.
The premiere will begin on August 20, 2023; the finale will air on November 19, 2023.
However, this was followed by four “reunion” episodes. First, there were two “one on one” specials, in which the family recapped the season and gave updates on how things are going now.
Following this, a special called Christina and David’s Wedding followed, showing the preparations and ceremony for the wedding of Christine and David Woolley.

Here is the official description for the first episode of Season 19 sister Wives Initially, a collection of uneasy episodes sets the scene.
This season will be a trip into the past for fans, as most of this season was filmed during the events of the last 8 months, including Christine’s engagement, Janelle’s move to Montana, and worst of all, Garrison’s death.
Episode one will see a confrontation between Kody, Robyn and Christine, who haven’t seen each other in months. The stage is set for drama-filled times for poor Mykelti’s baby.
By the second episode, Kody’s attention shifts to Meri, as she begins to pressure the church for “emancipation,” which is their religion’s term for divorce.
And speaking of divorce, it’s clear in this season’s trailer that Kody’s remaining marriage is in trouble. Robyn has accused Kody of “damaging” their marriage, leaving many wondering if Kody will have a wife by the end of the season.
