“Should be starting”, “Nothing left to play for” – Real Madrid fans make surprise claim about wanting to see out of form player against Cadiz

Real Madrid fans feel that Carlo Ancelotti should have given Eden Hazard a start when Los Blancos take on Cádiz in a La Liga clash away from home on April 15. The Madrid giants enter the game behind Barcelona by 13 points.

They also have a UEFA Champions League second leg clash against Chelsea at the weekend. Fans believe that Hazard, who has barely started a game of late, should have been given the nod for the Cádiz clash.

Thibaut Courtois is a starter in the whites’ goal. Lucas Vásquez, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho Fernández are the four defenders. Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos are the three midfielders.

Marco Asensio and Rodrygo Goes accompany Karim Benzema in attack. Fans, however, believe that Hazard should have been given a chance to redeem himself.

Since moving from Chelsea in 2019, the Belgian has been unable to replicate the form he displayed for the Stamford Bridge club. He has made just 74 appearances for the club in what has been an injury-plagued season. Hazard has scored seven goals and provided 12 assists for the Spanish giants.

He has also been sporadic this season, scoring a goal and providing an assist. However, the Belgian came up with a nice cameo and got an assist against Real Valladolid on April 2.

One fan wrote on Twitter about Hazard:

“Hazard should be starting.”

Another stated:

“I still can’t understand Hazard not starting even when Vini is out. Carlo could have easily started with Hazard Rodrygo and Asensio, there’s nothing left to play for in La Liga, give Hazard minutes.”

Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter when Real Madrid’s line-up for the La Liga away clash against Cádiz was announced:

@MadridXtra Vallejo would have started instead of militao as a precaution. Then a hazard on the left wing, then a pass on the right.

@MadridXtra Hazard should be starting… 🤷🏾‍♂️

The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, sent a challenging message before the clash with Cádiz

Real Madrid have underperformed in La Liga this season by their astronomical standards. The fact that they trail Barca by 13 points is a testament to the same.

Carlo Ancelotti, however, stated that the team will fight to the end regardless of whether they finish on top or not. Speaking to the media before the Cádiz clash, Ancelotti said:

“My players are motivated to prepare the right strategy for the game. We are in a competition that we must respect. We are losing but we want to do our best. Nine games remain. If we cannot finish first, we will fight until the end to at least secure second place. The players know it and this jersey demands that attitude.”

Real Madrid awaits a clash against Chelsea after tonight’s match against Cádiz.
