As she’s been making sadly clear for the past several years, Shannen Doherty is going through a very tough time.
The actress was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2020.
And while the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum has spoken openly about her struggle with the disease, she’s just opening up about something even more profound Other Personal and painful:
Her divorce from Kurt Iswarienko.
In court documents obtained by multiple celebrity gossip outlets this week, Doherty claims she hasn’t been given access to financial records related to Iswarienko’s archives of his photography work … slowing down the process of her ultimately receiving spousal support.
He has a theory behind this too.
“It is simply not right that Kurt should be allowed to prolong our divorce in the hopes that he will be forced to pay me before I die, while he continues to live his life and avoid his responsibilities to his dying wife of over 11 years,” Doherty wrote in legal documents.
The 53-year-old woman is seeking $15,434 per month from her ex-husband.
She wrote that her income from her role on the show “Charmed” is declining, and she is also losing her SAG health insurance because she is unable to act due to health issues.
Iswarienko’s lawyer denied Doherty’s allegations, saying his client had offered his ex-wife a settlement in October 2023, but Doherty turned it down.
Meanwhile, the star has also accused Iswarienko of living an extravagant lifestyle while she has no money, no access to his airplane or their marital vacation home in the state of Texas.
“Kurt has been using planes, spending thousands of dollars on medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and flights … while at the same time claiming he does not have enough money to support me,” the filing reads.
Doherty filed for divorce from Kourt in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage.
At the time, her rep told E! News the decision was made out of necessity, saying:
“Divorce is the last thing Shannon wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she had no other choice.”
The actress later accused her ex-husband of having an extramarital affair.
Last November, Doherty revealed her cancer had spread, telling People magazine at the time:
“I don’t want to die.
“I haven’t stopped living. I haven’t stopped loving. I haven’t stopped creating. I haven’t stopped making changes to hopefully make things better,” she said.
“I’m not – I’m not finished yet.”
