Scooter Braun defends Taylor Swift against Donald Trump after disgusting insult

Here’s a sentence we didn’t think we’d be typing in 2024: Scooter Braun has come to Taylor Swift’s defense.

Who would have guessed?

Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s former manager’s feud with the world’s biggest pop star is well known.

That’s why fans are enjoying the re-releases of his first seven albums.

Since this rivalry began, both sides haven’t had much to say about each other — but when Taylor Swift received a trashy message from President Trump, Scooter Braun intervened.

Scooter Braun defends Taylor Swift against Donald Trump with his song

On Sept. 15, just hours before Taylor and her mom cheered on her boyfriend Travis Kelsey at his latest football game, the former president sent a candid message to the Grammy winner on Truth’s social media.

Earlier this week, Taylor was targeted by Trump for endorsing Kamala Harris for president after the debate, after which he decided it was time to address the issue directly.

He posted on his social media, “I hate Taylor Swift!” for the whole world to see. Well, this wasn’t breaking news – but what happened next shook Swifties.

Music manager-turned-entrepreneur Scooter Braun, who owned all of Taylor’s masterpieces a few years ago, reposted Trump’s message to Taylor.

And he also took on the former president!

He quoted Taylor’s most famous song of all time, writing, “Shake it off Donald.” After that, Scooter posted his support for Kamala in his sing-off.

The Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun drama will never end

The bad blood between Taylor and Scooter is well known.

In June 2019, Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine Records in a massive $300 million deal. Taylor Swift’s catalog, which included the albums Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, And PrestigeThe deal came with and is believed to be worth around $140 million, Diversity Report.

A few days after the deal was signed, Taylor criticized the deal and called Scooter a “bully” and “the definition of toxic male privilege in our industry”.

In addition, Taylor re-recorded his albums one by one as part of his campaign, leading the public to value those albums more than the originals, thus making them worthless to their new owner.

By 2023, thanks to the re-release and her epic Eras tour, Taylor was dubbed a billionaire by Forbes magazine.

Scooter is trying to make peace?!

In 2020, Scooter sold Taylor’s masters to Shamrock Capital for $300 million. At the time, Swift denied the news in a Twitter post.

“This is the second time my music has been sold without my knowledge,” he said in the post. According to him, Shamrock said that prior to the sale, Brown had made it mandatory that the firm not contact him or his team or else the deal would not go forward.

Scooter has mostly kept mum on the whole matter, and has only defended himself when he felt the need to.

However, in the years that followed he lost his other clients, such as Justin Bieber, and even dropped out of management altogether.

But he has also been more active in posting cryptic digs at Taylor. When HBO released a documentary about their feud in the summer of 2024, he posted about it on Instagram, and confirmed he had seen it.

A few weeks later he shared a post. TMZ Taylor posted about a party she hosted at her Rhode Island home on Labor Day for her friend Blake Lively’s birthday, which was attended by a number of celebrities.

“Why wasn’t I invited to this??” she wrote, adding the interesting hashtag #laughalittle.

Apparently, he’s all for making things lighter at Taylor’s expense.

Well, this is what we’d say to Scooter if we could: If he’s hoping to win back Taylor’s good graces, he should think again.

That ship has definitely sailed!
