Savannah Chrisley is once again opening up about her lying, cheating, and law-breaking father.
Although she’s not saying it in those words.
In honor of Father’s Day last weekend, the reality star shared a lengthy caption on Instagram, explaining what life is like with his family these days…
…because both his parents are in jail.
Savannah opened the message by writing, “This Father’s Day hit me really hard!”
“As I sit here at the Pensacola Airport in Florida, I reflect on my father’s absence for the second year in a row.
“It’s not just about the lack of him at the dinner table or the lack of his laughter and jokes in our home and family … it’s about the profound impact his absence has had on our family.”
as a refresher,
Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley were charged in 2019 with tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy.
After this, he was found guilty in June 2022.
Over the past two years, Savannah has frequently complained about the abhorrent conditions her parents endured in prison — while also insisting their innocence.
On January 17, both spouses arrived at their respective prisons, as Todd began serving his 10-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida… while Julie reported to Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington in Kentucky to serve her five-year sentence.
Savannah wrote on social media, “17 months ago my father was sent to jail… and since then our family has been struggling to get our home back together. The void that his absence has left cannot be denied.”
“Our family, which was once whole and complete, now feels shattered and incomplete without my beloved Mama and Papa. Our experience has shown me first-hand the harsh realities of our prison system.”
Apart from Savannah, the incarcerated couple has two sons – Chase (28 years old) and Grayson (18 years old).
(Todd is also father to two children from his previous marriage to Teresa Terry: daughter Lindsie, 34, and son Kyle, 32.)
Chrisley added, “It doesn’t just punish the individual … it shakes families to their very core, and leaves wounds that are slow to heal.”
“I honestly don’t know if they ever will… So-called justice often feels unjust, and the system designed to protect us sometimes feels like it’s doing the opposite. I’m not okay. The pain of losing my father to prison is a burden I carry every day.”
The obvious response here is that maybe Todd and Julie should have thought about all of this before breaking the law.
but anyway.
The Chrisley Knows Best alum — who hopes to star in her own reality show soon — wrote that looking back at “beautiful moments” in old photos is a bittersweet experience, as it “serves as a deep but harsh reminder of what we’ve lost and the uncertainty of our future,” describing the pain as “unbearable at times.”
He added:
“I’m just a girl who misses her father. But I can say that I am committed to fighting for justice… for my family and for all the families who have been torn apart by an imperfect system. No family should have to suffer this kind of hurt and trauma.”
“We all deserve better, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that our justice system becomes a force for healing and restoration, not for further pain and division.”
Chrisley concluded as follows:
I really hope that my page can be a place of growth and that we can all work together towards a future where families aren’t torn apart by injustice and where everyone is treated with respect and fairness.
I have great hopes for our future… I miss you Dad… I will never stop fighting the good fight.”
