Ryan Edwards’ Relapse Has Been “Heartbreaking” for Son Bentley, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant says

Recent Public Recession of the East teen Mom Star Ryan Edwards has been difficult for many to watch.

Even if you were never a fan of Ryan’s — though some Teen Mom viewers were — you may find that his atrocities and erratic behavior are reminiscent of your own experiences with unstable addictions. Are.

Naturally, the situation has been hardest on those who were directly affected by Ryan’s abuse.

We’re talking, of course, about Ryan’s wife, Mackenzie Standifer — who had the presence of mind to record the threats she received from Edwards — but also his children, who once again bore witness to his appalling behavior.

Ryan’s eldest child, 14-year-old son Bentley, was rebuilding his relationship with his estranged father in the months before his relapse.

And now, it looks like all that work may have come to naught.

Dr. Cheyenne Bryant – Known as “Coach B” teen Mom fans – working with Ryan and Bentley to help them communicate in a more productive way.

Coach B discusses his frustration over recent developments in a new interview with Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

“It is a really difficult situation. It is extremely heartbreaking and difficult for Bentley because he is being directly affected,” she told the outlet.

,[Ryan] was working, he was doing better than before. He was communicating more with Bentley,”

“They were having a father/son one-on-one time. Their relationship was actually starting to be a bit more substance-based than it had been before.

Coach B says that the progress made by Ryan and Bentley has made the situation even more tragic.

“Bentley shared that he was enjoying the newness of having more contact and spending more time with his father,” she said.

He also learned some new things [Ryan] Was really enlightening to Bentley,” Bryant continued.

“My heart goes out to both Ryan and Bentley, as I can only imagine how Ryan feels about breaking his commitments as a man, and to his son, with whom he seeks a relationship.” “

Coach Bee says she takes some solace in the fact that she helped prepare Bentley for such a downturn.

“My heart breaks for Bentley, and the despair I know he felt … But we also made up and talked a lot about how [their relationship] Was [in a good place then]But in that event [Ryan] Takes a turn, these are the feelings you can feel. these are the tools i want you to use [Ryan] Pivots,” he said.

Bryant said, “I don’t judge Ryan for this because I understand the challenges that come with addiction.”

She further added that the prospect of Ryan turning over came as a harsh blow to Bentley, but it shouldn’t hurt the teen at all.

“The main thing is to make sure Bentley is processing his feelings, he’s not shutting down … and to make sure he’s not personalizing his father’s decisions, so that Bentley is his father’s father.” Don’t carry the weight of choice,” she said.

“Being the child of an addicted parent is a very challenging thing to learn and do.
