Roman Reigns’ rumored status for WWE SmackDown

WWE’s Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns stole all the headlines over the weekend when he somehow managed to retain his title against Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber event.

Despite the victory, however, Zayn won the hearts of the fans in Montreal, and the building’s energy was extinguished the moment he was pinned. Now, Reigns is ready to take on his next challenger, the inimitable Cody Rhodes.

After having won the men’s Royal Rumble, Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns to a match at WrestleMania for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Paul Heyman has so far built the feud between the two by trading some promos with Rhodes. It looks like he will have to wait a bit longer before the two men are actually in the same ring.

According to a report from fighting team, Roman Reigns is not listed internally for SmackDown this week. This is billed as the WWE Elimination Chamber fallout spectacle, where The Tribal Chief came surprisingly close to losing his title to Zayn.

However, even with Reigns absent, there will be a segment for Bloodline. It will be interesting to see if he will feature Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, whose miscommunication in Elimination Chamber led to Reigns’ victory.

Whether or not Reigns appears, despite not being on the list, remains to be seen.
