Raquel Lewis knows she needs professional help.
In the wake of a headline-grabbing scandal that rocked the Bravo universe — Lewis was revealed last month to have slept with Vanderpump Rules collaborator Tom Sandoval while he was dating co-star Ariana Maddux Lewis checked into rehab.
Although not for substance abuse.
Her representative clarified this in a statement on Friday, April 14.
The new message reads, “Raquel and her family decided prior to discovering the relationship that she would enter a voluntary facility for mental health counselling.”
“Raquel had planned to accept herself before the VPR reunion taped on March 23rd.
“She was supposed to go to the pre-reunion, but decided she wanted to fulfill her film commitments.
“Bravo and the production were aware and supportive of her journey towards better mental health.”
We last heard from Lewis in late March when she opened up to TMZ about her relationship with Sandoval.
“It started as a friendship, and it turned into something more.
“But I’m sure we’ll go into more detail about all of that at the reunion,” Lewis told a cameraman sitting outside Blush Nail Bar in Valley Village, Calif., on March 22 before the Season 10 reunion took place.
Raquel previously claimed that she and Sandoval weren’t sure where things stand between them these days, a sentiment she echoed in the same Sidewalk interview.
“I don’t know where our relationship is going. We’re just trying to get through these next few steps and trying to make amends,” Lewis told TMZ.
“I know a lot of people are angry, so just go through these steps and see where it goes…
“We’re not putting a label on anything.”
Lewis also issued an apology to Maddix in early March — after Ariana apparently found an intimate FaceTime video on Sandoval’s phone from Raquel.
“I want to apologize for my actions and my liking for Ariana and for my friends and fans investing in our relationship,” he wrote in a March 8 Instagram statement.
“There are no excuses, I am not a victim and I must own up to my actions and I am deeply sorry for hurting Ariana.
The former beauty pageant contestant said she was “talking to a counselor” about her personal issues at the time.
“I have sought emotional validation through intimate relationships that are not healthy without my well-being, sometimes negatively affecting others and often prioritizing intimate relationships over my friendships.
“I am taking steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices.”
The statement comes just hours after Sandoval issued her own public apology regarding her fake role in the scandal.
“I made mistakes, I was selfish, and made reckless decisions to hurt someone I love,” he wrote in a March 7 Instagram post.
“No one deserves to feel that pain so painfully and publicly.” The musician, 40, noted that he “can only imagine how devastating this has been for Ariana and everyone around us.”
“I feel really terrible about it,” Tom continued.
“My biggest regret is that I disrespected Ariana. I never wanted to let so many people down, including my dear family and friends.
