Royal family watchers around the world are expecting the meeting between Prince Harry and Prince William in New York to make newspaper headlines next month.
The reason for their desire for this specific scenario is that both princes will be in Manhattan at the end of September.
As you probably know, William and Harry have been living apart for quite some time.
A royal rift
It is difficult to say exactly when the trouble started. But the situation worsened when Harry and his wife Meghan Markle decided to step down from the working of the royal family.
And the rift deepened even more after Meghan and Harry’s Oprah interview. Then came Harry’s memoir, which proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
These days, she and William do not speak to each other. Maybe fans of the royal family are saddened by this situation and are hoping for a reconciliation.
So the news that both brothers will be in New York at the same time is cause for hope.
Prince Harry and Prince William meet in New York: Can it really happen?
We’ve known for quite some time that Prince William will be visiting New York soon. The reason for his upcoming visit is the annual Earthshot Prize ceremony.
There’s even a rumor that Kate Middleton might join them for the occasion.
Kate is, of course, undergoing treatment for cancer.
And the news that he is now able to endure transatlantic flights and many high-profile public appearances will be greeted with celebration by his millions of supporters.
But some members of Team Kate are concerned. They think the princess’ visit will be “overshadowed” by the news that Harry will also be in New York that week.
New York City might be hosting two princes at the same time
Yes, according to a new report NewsweekHarry will be in town to represent his various charitable organizations.
“During the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week in New York City, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, will be in the city to further his many conservation and philanthropic initiatives,” the spokesperson confirmed. Newsweek,
“He will be participating in events with African Parks, The Halo Trust, The Diana Award and Travelist,” the representative added.
“In addition, he will advance the work of The Archewell Foundation, a non-profit organisation he founded with his wife, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.
“More details will be shared as we get closer to the week of the event.”
It’s worth noting that William’s representatives have not yet confirmed his NYC trip. But he has co-founded the Earshot organization.
Hence, it is widely believed that he will once again feature in the group’s flagship event.
But will the brothers organise any sort of reunion in New York? Well, we’re hoping not.
William and Harry have returned to London several times since their relationship broke down. And so far, the brothers have not attempted a reconciliation.
Maybe things will be different when they’re both in the Big Apple. But we doubt it.
