Piers Morgan has a lot to say about some of the recent scandals involving Prince Harry.
And none of this paints the Duke of Sussex in a very positive light.
As you may have heard, Prince Harry was honored at the ESPYs over the summer as the recipient of the Pat Tillman Award for Service.
The award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions that reflect the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger who enlisted after the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Questions about Harry’s abilities
Many don’t think Harry was worthy of that distinction — despite the fact that he served in the British Army for 10 years, including two tours in Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot.
He also created the Invictus Games in 2014, an event that serves as a multi-sport, Paralympic-style games for wounded or injured soldiers and veterans.
This is not a bad resume.
But controversy is following Harry almost everywhere at the moment.
Pierce slammed Harry
in your column for New York PostMorgan was among those who objected to ESPN’s decision, rightly attacking Prince Harry, whom he dismissed as a “royal traitor.”
Morgan said of the man who gave up a professional football career to fight overseas, “Pat Tillman is an American hero, a man who gave up serving his country to serve himself.”
After this the journalist compared Tillman with Harry and said that Harry…
“A man who understands so little the meaning of the word ‘duty’ that he has traded his job of working for the public as a member of the British royal family for a lifetime of being a greedy, money-grabbing celebrity in California Changed, who deals in royal titles for nothing.”
Morgan concluded with this simple point:
“Pat Tillman will be turning in his grave at this desecration of his name.”
Morgan has criticized Harry and Meghan Markle at every opportunity since stepping away from her royal family duties in 2020.
Recently, Morgan accused Harry of “bullying” her royal relatives. She also accused Meghan of trying to outdo Kate Middleton while she was battling cancer.
Pat Tillman’s mom agrees with Pierce
Obviously, these are ridiculous allegations. But on the subject of Harry and the Tillman Award, Pierce is not alone.
Pat’s mother Mary Tillman recently said, “I am puzzled as to why they chose such a controversial and divisive person to receive the award.” daily MailAdded a few days ago:
“There are recipients who are far more suitable.
“There are individuals working in the veteran community who are doing tremendous work to assist veterans.”
ESPN reacted to the blow:
“ESPN, in collaboration with the Tillman Foundation, is honoring Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, specifically for the work of the Invictus Games Foundation as it brings healing through the power of sports to military service members and surrounding veterans. Celebrating its 10th year of promotion. World.
While we understand that not everyone will agree with all of the honorees selected for any award, the Invictus Games Foundation does incredible work and ESPN believes it is a cause worth celebrating.
