(Reuters) -Netflix was out of service for thousands of users in the United States on Friday night, with more than 12,000 incidents reported, outage tracking website Downdetector.com said.
The reports come as Netflix (NASDAQ:) airs a highly anticipated live boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which promises to draw huge traffic to the platform.
However, the number of users reporting problems had fallen to 5,114 as of 9:21 p.m. ET, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from various sources.
Netflix said it had no immediate comment in response to a Reuters request.
