On Monday February 20, a Mumbai court granted bail to Sapna Gill and her three other friends accused of mistreating Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw.
In a Twitter post, the Press Trust of India wrote:
“Prithvi Shaw Fight Case: Mumbai Court Grants Social Media Influencer Sapna Gill Free On Bail, Three Other Defendants”.
According to the Free Press Journal, the decision came minutes after the defendants were taken into judicial custody for a further 14 days. Gill had filed a bail statement with the Andheri court.
Apart from Gill, the other three were identified as Shobit Thakur, Rudra and Sahil. The four defendants were detained by Mumbai police for attacking Shaw’s car with a baseball bat last Wednesday after he refused to take any more selfies outside a hotel in Mumbai’s Santacruz area.

Prithvi Shaw to play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023
Prithvi Shaw will next play for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2023. He will look to play a vital role in the absence of regular captain Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper batsman is on his way to recovery after surviving a car crash in December.
Shaw, 23, was recently named to India’s squad for the T20I series against New Zealand more than a year and a half after his 379-run strike against Assam in the Ranji Trophy. He, however, did not get a game during the three match series, which the India team won 2-1 at home.
The Mumbai batsman will be aiming for a great season in IPL 2023. Last year, Shaw scored 283 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 152.97.
