Morgan Wallen pleaded guilty to some counts of misdemeanor battery in a Nashville courtroom on Thursday, Dec. 12… following an April incident in which she threw a chair from the sixth-floor balcony of Eric Church’s bar, the Chief.

The country music star was sentenced to one week in jail – to be served in a DUI education center – as well as two years of probation; One year for each of his misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment.
The artist will also have to pay a $350 fine and court fees.
“Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities over the past eight months, communicated directly and apologized to everyone involved. Mr. Wallen is committed to making a positive impact through his music and the Foundation, ” his attorney, Warrick Robinson IV, said in a statement after the sentencing.
The court date came three weeks after Wallen won Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards on November 20.
Earlier in the year, as mentioned above, he addressed the violent incident that led to his arrest via social media.
“I didn’t feel like checking in publicly until I came to terms with a few people,” Wallen wrote on Twitter at the time.
“I have contacted Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief. I am not proud of my behavior and I accept responsibility.
“I have the utmost respect for the officers who work every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no changes.
On the day of his arrest, Nashville police said that two policemen were standing in front of the Chief’s Bar when they saw a chair, which appeared to be thrown by Wallen, fall from the roof to street level.
“Morgan is usually a nice, fun person to hang out with, but when he gets going he doesn’t know when to stop,” a source told People Magazine months ago.
“Morgan and alcohol are a problem and it’s a problem that keeps coming up again and again.”
In 2021, the singer was indefinitely suspended from his label after videos surfaced of him shouting a racial slur.
Also, in 2020, he was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being kicked out of Kid Rock’s bar in downtown Nashville.
Still, Wallen’s latest album spent 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 in 2023 and was the most consumed album in the United States last year.
