MLB fans hilariously troll Angels Double-A affiliate after Rocket City Trash Pandas unbelievably lose after tossing no-hitter

The Rocket City Trash Pandas are the minor league affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. Incredibly, they lost a game against the Cincinnati Reds affiliate team, the Chattanooga Lookouts, after giving up zero hits in the entire game.

The 7-5 scoreline baffled fans around the world. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts:

@StoolBaseball MLB is testing scripts for Ohtani in the wild card round…

@StoolBaseball Walk, walk, jump, walk, strike out. 2 down. Walk, fielding error, 3 runs scored. HBP, HBP, walk, wild pitch, HBP, strikeout

@StoolBaseball @roryr63 historical feats of angels followed by bad losses even run through the entire farm system, truly impressive.

It’s good to see the AA Angels bullpen follow in the footsteps of the Major League Baseball club. twitter.com/StoolBaseball/…

The Angels take the reins when the Trash Pandas fail against the Lookouts

The Rocket City Trash Pandas play in the Southern League and are the Double A affiliate of the LA Angels. They gave up the first no-hitter of the minor league season with starter Coleman Crow turning up six scoreless innings with six strikeouts to his name.

Where it went wrong was in the seventh inning, where the Trash Pandas brought in closer Ben Joyce. Taking the mound, Joyce gave away three walks and a dropped fly ball that counted as an error. The bases were loaded with only one out needed for the Trash Pandas.

Taking over for Joyce came Eric Torres, who was immediately charged two runs for an error. Some wild pitching meant Torres gave away walks due to HBP and go-ahead runs to give the Lookouts a 7-3 lead. He was able to secure the final strikeout and the Trash Pandas tried to come back, but it wasn’t enough as the game ended 7-5.

Being part of the Angels organization meant that The Halos would face ridicule. Shading an affiliate’s troubles may seem excessive. However, their recent record of not making the playoffs, even with the likes of Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, allowed them to be heavily trolled by fans of other teams.
