Kody Brown will act like a real live person on this Sunday’s new episode of Sister Wives.
In a sneak peek shared by TODAY.com, Meri Brown will officially move from Flagstaff to Utah.
“My work is done in Flagstaff. I am married to him. “I’m starting this new life,” Meri tells the camera in the clip, referencing Kody and her union, which the former couple ended in January 2023.
Earlier in Season 19, Meri announced that she had received her church’s permission to divorce Kody Brown.
(The two were legally married from 1990-2014, and then lived together as spiritual spouses so Kody could exchange vows with Robyn Brown.)
Elsewhere, Brown tells Kody that she plans to move to her native state of Utah now that they have decided to “permanently end” their marriage.
For the record, this episode of Sister Wives was filmed in early 2023. A long time ago.
Meanwhile, in this footage, Kody drops Meri off at her new home – and is really impressed by the development.
“Okay, okay,” he says, fighting his emotions: “My, it’s the end of an era.”
Meri agrees, she and Cody hug and then Cody brings it back to him by saying:
“It was a great race, but I won’t let it get me down.”
Earlier on the TLC reality show, Meri explained how she got mixed messages from Kody and that’s why she stuck with him for years… even after it was clear he didn’t love her anymore.
We’ll see an example of this in the November 24 episode when Cody cries during his farewell.
“It always amazes me that you get emotional like that. I don’t understand,” Mary replies, to which his ex-wife responds:
“It’s just, I look at my life and it feels like it hasn’t been turned upside down. It’s like… we had something.
He did so, Mary agrees, unable to erase three decades together. “We had something really good,” she replies.
This may be true, but the Sister Wives stars weren’t close for very long at the end of their marriage.
Becoming more emotional, Kody Brown tearfully tells Meri:
“We had something special. And it feels like it’s all just kind of gone, you know. And there was just one thing and then another and then another thing and it’s all fine.”
At this point, of course, Kodi is Only Married to Robin. Mary, Christine and Janelle have all moved away from polygamy.
“I love my life, but it’s a lot different than it was three years ago, you know?” Cody will say this Sunday night on air. “And it seemed like everyone was just saying, ‘It’s not important.'”
Perhaps. Or that’s all everyone else wants, This guy is an A-hole. I’m outta here!
