This week, 90 Day Fiancé: Before 90 Days Fans learned about the divorce of Memphis Smith and Mokni Hamza.
The bitter ex finalized their split several months ago. It appears that Memphis “won” some sort of custody, though we don’t know the details.
Now, we know that Memphis also filed for bankruptcy, citing massive debt and monthly expenses that far exceeded his income.
Obviously, there’s no shame in exploring her financial options. But some fans are crying foul, and are wondering if this is some sort of ploy in their divorce.

He was married. Memphis was pregnant. Actually, she gave birth to her daughter Kiyori in October 2021.
Hamza was soon able to move to the United States. They were supposed to live together as a family. And, for a while, they did.
In fact, very reliable reports say that the producers and camera crew were filming Memphis and Hamza in Michigan.

It appears that Memphis and Hamzah have split up…and abruptly refused to film any further. The only other explanation is that the show itself decided to take them out.
The two would have parted ways by early 2022 at the latest. Sure enough, by spring, they had completely drifted apart.
Interestingly, it appears that Hamza spent several months in Chicago away from Memphis and her child.
Fans don’t fully understand what happened. Apart from some vague cursing at each other, the two have remained tight-lipped about this ugly business.
Memphis and Hamza finalized their divorce in October of 2022.
Around that time, it appears that the court made a custody decision that was not in Hamza’s favor.
We’re being intentionally vague. Because we don’t know, and we don’t pretend to know the details.
What we do know more about is that in November of 2022, Memphis filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
Noting that she didn’t have assets to use as a living, she shared that she only earns a little over $4,200 a month. That’s less than what some might expect for a nurse practitioner.
In liabilities and debt, Memphis owes $225,430 – a quarter of a million dollars, approximately. And her monthly expenses of $4,640 exceeded her income by several hundred dollars. According to his paperwork.
Now Memphis is a working mother of two. She could easily spend as much or higher, given the historical price charged by the massive oligopolies in many industries. Often, a major factor is location.
However, some fans have wondered if this filing is some sort of divorce strategy. How much money did Hamza owe him? Is there any way to avoid this?
We are unsure about how someone can take out such a huge loan to buy a small suburban home. But something should be remembered about the financial realities of Memphis.
During his offseason, Memphis attempted to set up a prenup to sign with Hamza. Unfortunately, he tried this at the last minute. It was too late to sign before the wedding.
So, Memphis flew by the seat of its pants until she hid a successful solution from the cameras. Hamza did not sign the prenup. Memphis appears intent on having him sign the postnup… a document that carries quite a bit of weight.
There are real questions about the details of their eventual divorce. But for now, we don’t even know if Hamza will face deportation.
