According to Fichajes, Manchester United would be willing to sign Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati for 100 million euros. Not long ago, Fati was considered an untouchable player at the Catalan club.
The situation, however, has changed drastically. The Blaugrana are reportedly ready to dump the youngster in order to resolve the club’s ongoing financial crisis. They have put a price of 100 million euros on the player.
Ansu Fati was designated as the heir to Lionel Messi in Barcelona. He inherited the legendary no. Shirt 10 after the departure of Messi. However, Fati has seen his progress hampered by persistent injury problems.
💭 I hope that we will have this version of Ansu Fati again soon. https://t.co/rOAMMKlVJ3
Although he has been in form this season and has played 34 games for Xavi’s team, Fati’s performances leave a lot to be desired. The 20-year-old has only scored six goals and provided three assists.
Despite his recent struggles, the player’s talent and potential cannot be denied. This could be one of the reasons behind Manchester United’s willingness to break the bank for Fati.
Barcelona manager Xavi once named Manchester United as his favorite English club.
Xavi is currently the coach of Barcelona. The midfielder was an absolute legend during his playing career. He spent most of his time on the field of the Catalan club.
Back in 2015, Xavi expressed his affinity for the Red Devils. The Spaniard said (via the Bleacher report):
“To be honest, the Premier League is a great attraction for any player. It’s brilliant, the stadiums, the pitches, the fans and how they live football there, everything is amazing there. There are many great teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool… If I had to select one, it would have to be a club with a great history, maybe Manchester United or Liverpool, I know there are clubs that have emerged quite recently, like Manchester City for example, but United is my favorite historically speaking”.
Tonight will be Xavi’s 6th Clásico as coach, and his 6th away from the Camp Nou 😲🏟️ https://t.co/Enmf95GDLg
Xavi, however, played for only one club besides Barça in his career. He represented the Qatari club Al-Sadd and was also the team’s manager before returning to Camp Nou as manager.
