Jason Duggar’s fiancée Maddie Grace is set to officially become a member of the controversial family.
But, who is this girl really?
For three months fans have been trying to figure out the identity of the woman who stole Rebel Duggar’s heart.
Some clues were found during this period, and some speculations now appear to be completely baseless.
So, what can we tell you about this mysterious young lady set to become Maddie Grace Duggar? Let’s find out.
For one thing, she’s not a former reality show star
Jason made his relationship with Maddie official on Instagram at the end of May, sharing photos of the two hugging and strolling on the beach.
That time, 19 kids and counting The former student did not reveal her name. However, fans suspected that the young woman was also from the world of reality TV.
Several members of the Bates family – whose own reality series, Bringing Up Bates, ran for 10 seasons on Up TV – commented on Jason’s revealing upload.
For example, Esther and Whitney Bates commented on the post with smiley face/heart emojis. This prompted another user to note in the comments:
“The fact that the Bates sisters are making the comment with the ????eyes makes me think it’s a Bates sister.”
Now, a union between two members of these TLC Dynasty families would have been big news.
His above program will be closed in 2022.
It hasn’t received the same attention as Counting On, the series that brought Jason to fame, mostly because the Bates family has kept their distance from the type of controversy that often comes up when it comes to the Duggars.
Most notably, Josh Duggar cheated on his wife; molested his siblings; and was then convicted of possessing child pornography.
If it were a Bates sister, maybe that would be the way to get both families back on TV.
But unfortunately, that is not the case.
Maddie Grace Duggar is adopting this name
As we reported, Jason Duggar didn’t reveal his partner’s name for three months while dating her; he didn’t even show her face.
She appeared in engagement photos over Labor Day weekend, which were posted by photographer Jess and Maddie herself on their new Instagram accounts.
And what did she give fans her full name? Maddie Grace Duggar.
No first names were given, no photos were posted except for the engagement photos.
It’s as if she suddenly popped into existence, as a full-fledged Duggar bride.
“On August 24th, Jess asked me to marry him,” she wrote on Instagram on August 30 in a post that was also shared on Jason’s page, “and I couldn’t be more excited!!”
The best update fans got on this development came from photographer Kayla Johnson, who shared more photos of the proposal on her page.
“Congratulations to Jason and Maddie!” he wrote. “These two truly have the sweetest relationship I’ve ever seen.”
Kyla added, “Jess is the most purposeful, kind person, and Maddie matches that energy perfectly. She is truly the most beautiful ball of light in any room. I couldn’t imagine a more adorable couple, and I can’t wait to see them officially unite!! It’s so joyful to see God work something beautiful between two people.”
Okay, this is… something.
The Duggar family approved this match
As he’s made clear in recent years, Jason Duggar no longer follows every strict family rule.

The Duggar couple has followed a traditional courtship process due to their conservative Christian background.
Before a couple’s wedding day, kissing, hand-holding, and other public displays of affection are not permitted.
Looking at the engagement photos, it’s clear that Jason and his girlfriend have already broken those rules. He’s seen kissing her head, hugging her to his chest, and let’s not forget how it all started – a hand-holding photo!
Early in the courtship process, it is also necessary to have a chaperone present at all outings and/or dates.
“Courtship is about the group getting to know each other, both families spending time together, and the couple deciding if they’re meant to be married,” Jim Bob told People magazine in 2013.
“While dating, a couple will often pair off alone and this can sometimes lead to physical contact.”
So who among the Duggars has stepped up to take on that role? It seems most of the family has embraced it.
Most of them have already started following her on her new Instagram. Ginger appears to be the first to sign on as a follower. Then came James and Jeremy’s wife Hannah. However, it doesn’t seem like the “family” page run by Jason’s parents is following her yet – although she does follow them! She also follows Jade, Jer and John, none of whom have returned the favor.
Jill, Amy, Joey, and Jess all liked the engagement photos on Maddie’s new page, which is a good sign.
However, there is no trace of the family’s most recent bride, Jana.
