Liverpool have investigated the situation of Barcelona midfielder Gavi. According to Catalan outlet Nacional, the Reds are looking to bring the 20-year-old to Anfield.
He appears to have fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou under Hansi Flick. The German seems to prefer teenager Marc Casado and Pedri in the double pivot, leaving Gavi relegated to an option mostly used from the bench. He has played 12 games this season but has only played 241 minutes of action.
Thus, he has been raised as a possible transfer option for multiple clubs, including Liverpool. His contract will expire in the summer of 2026. Since the report indicates that there have been no talks between the player and the club regarding extending his stay, he could find a way out for a relatively low price.
Gavi intends to stay at Barcelona in the hope of impressing the manager and fighting for his place. However, if he decides to leave, the Reds are interested in adding him to the team. The report suggests that manager Arne Slot values him highly and the club could offer him a high salary to make him one of the most valued players.
The 20-year-old would join a talented midfield that includes the likes of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones.
Barcelona are interested in the Liverpool star but he is expected to stay and renew
Barcelona is keeping an eye on Liverpool winger Luis Díaz. According to Spanish media Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are interested in adding the 27-year-old attacker to their ranks.
However, the Colombian is expected to stay at Anfield. His current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027, but the Reds are looking to renew it soon.
The contract situations of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are likely to be higher priorities for Liverpool as they become free agents next summer. After this, they could try to tie down the Colombian, who has been a vital part of Arne Slot’s attack this season.
Díaz has been used both on the left wing and up front, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 22 games in all competitions.
He could be a key addition for a Barcelona team looking for Nico Williams to play on the left side of their attack. While Raphinha has proven to be a revelation with Hansi Flick there, the addition of another experienced attacker could be helpful for the Blaugrana.
