Kylie Jenner has been accused of an indifferent — or worse — response to the recent disaster.
Some of his family members have already been hit by the massive wildfires in Los Angeles.
But the issue with Kylie is not about political allegations or huge wastage of water.
Instead, fans and critics alike are asking if this is it Best Time for a fire-related ad?
What did Kylie Jenner do wrong?
In 2024, Kylie Jenner launched another product. This time, the makeup mogul unveiled a vodka soda named Sprinter.
Well, the Sprinter shared a promo just days before the devastating wildfires spread in January of 2025. Thousands and thousands of people fled their homes. Thousands of structures were destroyed. People have died, and some people, businesses and families will never recover.
Meanwhile, Kylie’s promo for the Sprinter continues. Which will be fine – after all life goes on. Excluding advertising content.
“Preparing for the weekend,” the caption of Kylie Jenner’s vodka soda ad reads.
Meanwhile, the image also includes the actual product spot with a blazing log burner.
This is a completely normal advertisement for winter. But after so many images and videos of the devastating inferno that has turned neighborhoods of historic Los Angeles into ashes, it’s not getting better. After all, you can Always Just remove the ad that has bad timing.
This is how people are reacting to Kylie Jenner’s unfortunate timing
First, an Instagram account that appears to be dedicated to dissing Kylie and Timothée Chalamet, as one couple posted a screenshot of the ad on their Story.
“Oh my f–king God,” the caption above the photo declared. “And the ‘Bad Taste and Timing’ award goes to….”
Then, a screenshot of that Story post reached Reddit, where even more people commented on its timing.
“I mean girl take it down. The best is tone deaf,” one Reddit citizen commented.
One critic expressed vain hope that this would somehow erase the impact of the entire family, writing: “I hope it does for them!!! Let this tragedy in California be the end of the KarJenners.
Another accused Kylie of “trying to look cute and cool and she’s just being deaf and dumb.” (Just a reminder that the ad ran before the fire)
Not everyone is feeling angry
A vodka soda ad is probably the least bad thing on people’s minds right now. Especially because the crime was committed unintentionally.
As some commentators have pointed out, fire exists. Movies, TV shows, books, video games, and commercials will all contain fire in some form or another. This is not necessarily insensitive.
Obviously, anyone who has watched their house burn has every right to feel sensitive to combustion in its various forms. But it is a bit difficult to be angry at Kylie for this particular thing. Most of this probably comes from people who disliked Kylie to begin with.
