Kourtney Kardashian’s involvement in the Ozempic obsession is not going well.
Several celebrities have confessed to the controversial use of Ozempic and Monjaro for weight loss.
The craze for Ozempic has been met with strong backlash from health experts and diabetics — who need this drug to survive.
It seems like Kourtney Kardashian is trying to take advantage of the interest in Ozempic. But she’s being called out, and for good reason.
Is Kourtney Kardashian Offering Her Viewpoint on Ozempic?
Yes and no.
Last week, Kourtney Kardashian’s supplement brand, Lamé, unveiled its newest product.
The new supplement is reportedly helpful in weight loss, and people are instantly making the connection to Ozempic.
To be clear, lemme give a pill – not a Semaglutide injection like Ozempic users take.
Ozempic injections contain a synthetic version of the hormone, GLP-1. The human body very naturally releases a real version of this hormone into our bloodstream after we eat, although the timing, amount and effectiveness varies from body to body.
Lemme the pill is not a replica of Kourtney Kardashian’s Ozempic. The pills claim that it is a more natural attempt to promote the secretion of real hormones to reduce appetite.
Is Kourtney Kardashian’s line of weight loss pills the same as Ozempic?
The marketing makes it seem like Lemme pills are some sort of all-natural replacement for the controversial injections.
And the name of the new supplement is GLP-1 Daily. This actually seems to be a direct reference to Ozempic, even though GLP-1 is a natural hormone.
Fortunately, the most important difference may be that these supplements don’t cause shortages of lifesaving medications for diabetics.
Many fans are expressing strong criticism.
Appetite suppressants are already controversial as a means of weight loss, since they essentially allow people to trick their bodies into ignoring hunger. This doesn’t match some of Kourtney’s previous “body-positive” statements.
Furthermore, many commenters don’t seem convinced that this product works at all. This is not due to trying the (recently announced) Lemme supplements, but due to the science involved.
Critics aren’t sure if Lemme pills are worth it
The Lemme pill will reportedly increase hormone levels naturally over time. It contains lemon and saffron extracts.
“These do not mimic GLP-1 drugs because no oral medication can mimic it for weight loss,” the commenter scolded. “It will be absorbed systemically by enzymes in a matter of minutes. Do better, Courtney.”
Other critics simply said the price was ridiculous. Cheaper (and more ethical) than the original Ozempic, but at what (literal) cost?
