The lines have been drawn. The parties have been selected. And the Brown family is devastated.

And the only person who doesn’t seem okay with that arrangement is the person with whom most of the family members agree, which is the cause of separation.

season 19 so far sister Wives There has been evidence of the horrors of divorce. Filming during the holiday season in late 2022, fans will see the Brown family live as 4 individual families rather than one big plural family.

Some are doing better than others, but producers are attempting to focus on Cody’s relationships with both his estranged and other children.

It is unclear whether this was a decision taken after Garrison’s demise.

But what’s abundantly clear is that Kody’s kids fall into two categories in their father’s eyes: loyal or abusive.

Grandpa Cody meets the new members

One of the few older children who has maintained a relationship with his father is Micheletti. In the fourth episode of season 19, she invites her father and his last wife Robin to meet their newborn twins.

It’s an unusually tender moment in extremely tense circumstances. Robyn explains in her confessional that Mykelti seems more “truthful”. This means that unlike some of Kody’s other siblings, Mykelti does not blame or hold grudges against her father for the breakup of the family.

However, when Cody suggested Micheletti move to the Coyote Pass compound and build a house near him and Robin, her reaction was similar to the reaction of many other members of the family.

“No way in hell,” she says.

Although she may have forgiven her father for his past misdeeds, Mykelti clearly has no interest in bringing her young family back into that exclusive group.

As Christine says, “She’s not afraid to ask for what she wants. All kids need to do is take a page out of Micheletti’s book.

the pain of covid is alive

For the first time this season, fans met Gabriel, Janelle and Cody’s oldest son.

He visits his mother at her apartment just before Christmas and they have a heartfelt conversation over breakfast. Subject? Cody and Robin.

“After the COVID scare ended and we all went back to our normal lives, we still couldn’t reconcile as a family because Cody felt like the boys needed to apologize to him and Robyn. “Especially Robin.”

Fans will remember that during the pandemic, Kody insisted on very strict rules within the family. Furthermore, for much of that time, he refused to meet any of his other wives and children outside of his home with Robin.

This included missing spine surgery for his daughter Ysabel. He also ordered that the older boys, including Gabi, move out of Janelle’s house because Garrison reportedly made everyone sick after seeing his girlfriend.

In terms of Jenelle’s kids, it seems like Savannah is the only one who can “meet her where she’s at.” Gabe, who admits to seeing a counselor about his feelings, can’t do it.

“He messaged me and said ‘I forgive you, please forgive me.’ I was like, forgive me for what?”

blame game

The difference between Mykelti and Gabe’s relationship with their father was explained very well in later episodes.

It all depends on Robin.

Mykelti embraces Kody’s fourth wife. She even went so far as to involve her in the birth of the twins, much to the chagrin of their real mother, Christine.

Gabe, on the other hand, can’t stomach Cody’s blatant “favoritism”, as he puts it, towards Robyn and their kids. Therefore, she is unwilling to give Cody what he really wants, and that is unwavering loyalty.

Gabe explains, “If she truly believed that we were abusing her or her children in any way, even though her father was constantly loving her and we were always working on our relationship with her children. Were.”

“If she really believes that, there’s no chance of me having a relationship with Robin again.”

Janelle says, after Robyn joined the family, Kody’s perspective on his relationships changed. Instead of looking for “love and charity”, he sought “loyalty and respect”.

And he has a point. If anyone treated this episode like a drinking game, when the only rule was to drink every time Cody talked about “loyalty,” they would definitely be in the ER before seeing next week’s promo!

crying at christmas

But all this Robin stuff is kind of ironic, considering that out of everyone, she seems to be the only one holding out hope for fixing the family.

Janelle has been very clear: She wants peace for her children, not reconciliation. Christine has come a long way, even avoiding discussing Kody in favor of gushing about his new name, David.

And Meri, who was the one most likely to stick things out, is now more thrilled than ever that she got her release (aka a divorce through their church) because Kody has done nothing but abuse her. Will listen to him, talk nonsense with him.

(Meri is also someone who clearly wasn’t “faithful” to Kody, but it seems she couldn’t keep her mouth shut about the split and told the church…)

On Christmas Eve, at 1am, Robin films a tearful confession from the bathroom floor. Frustrated and clearly sad, she laments the fact that Mary has refused to come on Christmas Day and that once again, the entire family will not be together for the holidays.

But what about Kodi?

“When he is not controlling his anger, he is insecure. He misses the family experience,” Robyn admits, which rings true when it comes to things like spending one-on-one time with her new grandchildren.

Kody is more interested in investing in their marriage and their “special” relationship than dwelling in the past.

“Let’s go one step further,” he says. “Let it go. This was never meant to happen. It was never meant to work.”

But can she? Given all the divorce talk, this probably won’t work out as well as Kody hopes.

However, only time will tell!
