Kody Brown has moved past the denial stage.
On the latest episode of Sister Wives, the family patriarch was trimming trees on his Arizona property when he stopped to think about what life would be like now that he’s a monogamist.
(Not by choice, of course; Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown have all left Kody over the years.)
“So Robin made a new rule and because I’m monogamous, my wife has to make the rules, right?” Cody said brimming with sarcasm. “So she’s like, ‘Don’t take down a tree until you’ve taken down the last tree you took down.'”
It’s clear that despite recently proposing to Robyn once again, Kody is not a fan of her brand new situation.
However, impressively, Brown Did It seems like he’s a fan of Christine who has moved on with her husband David Woolley, whose marriage was recently featured on Sister Wives because the show was filmed a long time ago.
“I’m really excited for him. I’ve only met David once, and from what I can gather is that it moved pretty fast, but sometimes you just know,” Cody said on air Sunday night.
“I hope they are happy. And I hope that someday a time will come when we will feel comfortable with each other.
That day has not yet come… given that the deportees will soon face each other in court.
Cody also admitted on the episode that Christine “left with a purpose” because she “wanted to find her soulmate” and his main reaction was as follows. Appreciation,
After his trio of recent break-ups, Kody said there’s now “a lot of water under the bridge and it wasn’t all bad” when it comes to women who are no longer with him.
Yes, it’s been “hard”, he added, because polygamy was “mostly good”, but the focus going forward is entirely on Robyn and their children.
“It feels like it’s really a different world, the world that I have with Robin and our kids. It’s kind, it’s pleasant, it’s beautiful. It’s small,” Brown said in a confessional, showing some self-awareness:
“I have to accept this. I think I need to pay a lot more attention. It’s different being in a place where I don’t get that much attention.”
As previously documented, Kody is not close to most of his sons and daughters.
He thinks it is because of his disdain for Robin.
“My children will always be my children and the door will always be open for them. They have to come through that door,” he said, pompously coming in like a$$.
“I will put out one of my hands for this, but I will hold on to this hand that is next to me, and I will not let go of that hand. I will not stop Robin from having a relationship with my children.
Earlier in Season 19, Janelle insisted that Kody’s marriage to Robyn was not the reason for his separation from his children.
“Cody has this idea that if he can somehow get Robyn to leave the house, he’ll be able to come to these family gatherings. And that’s so far from the truth,” she said in an episode that aired in early December.
Jenelle then said that her ex-husband is “estranged from 90 to 95 percent of his kids. He’s really not wanted at events. He’s not coming regardless of who he brings with him or Doesn’t bring.”
