Kim Kardashian released a new music video in celebration of the holiday season.
Unfortunately, some fans are a little confused about which holiday she’s actually celebrating.
The clip is accompanied by a classic Christmas song, but the visuals are definitely giving off Halloween vibes!
Kim Kardashian’s performance on ‘Santa Baby’ is being criticized
In the video – a collaboration with visual artist Nadia Lee Cohen and Kim’s brother-in-law Travis Barker – the 44-year-old crawls across the floor of a raucous party scene while singing the yuletide tune popularized by Eartha Kitt.
At the end of his journey, we learn that the scene was being filmed by Santa himself – who, in this Lynchian nightmare world, is played by Macaulay Culkin, a different Christmas icon.
Not surprisingly, the project has received a mixed response from fans, many of whom are unsure of what message Kim and company were trying to convey.
“Is it for Halloween? Because it scares me,” one commenter wrote, according to Page Six.
Another tweeted, “Somebody explain this Kim Kardashian video to me like I’m 5 years old.”
“Kim Kardashian’s need for attention is insane,” a third tweeted.
“Don’t you all think that Kim Kardashian video was creepy?” The fourth one asked.
Kim has not responded to the response, and it’s unlikely she will. After all, an artist’s job is not to explain his work to critics!
Kim’s Christmas Capers
The video concludes an eventful holiday weekend for Kim.
On Saturday, they hosted a holiday party for their Skims employees. Kim is still recovering from a broken foot, but she made her injury festive with red and green shoes.
He also seized the opportunity to recreate the iconic paper Magazine photo that “broke the internet” in 2014.
Yes, it’s been a whole decade since Kim surprised the world with those memorable pictures.
At the time, she was newly married to Kanye West and had recently welcomed their first child.
Obviously, a lot has changed over the years.
But Kim is still pursuing projects that have some fans applauding and others scratching their heads.
We hope she continues to express herself in divisive ways for decades to come!
