Kylie Jenner recently admitted that Kim Kardashian is her favorite sister — for now, anyway.
The two shared a hot (perhaps even unnecessarily so) mini-photoshoot. Kim posted this calling Kylie her “twin soul”.
It’s sweet… but some wonder if this is an attempt to deflect attention from Kylie’s drama last week.
If this was the plan, it is not working. Kim is becoming a joker in the comments just because of being in the photos.
On the surface, only the photos of Kim and Kylie in the Kardashian family are very “normal”. And perhaps in some rural and largely unfair stereotypes about the deep South.
In the caption of these pictures, Kim wrote, ‘Twin souls’. Kylie replied with “I love you” with several repetitions of the letter U for effect.
One of the photos seemed just a little up-close and personal for the sisters. Especially for the bikini wearing sisters.
However, once you get past Kylie’s comment, you’re going to see a lot of, well, pranks.
Some people were making fun of Kylie. Other commenters were simply staying positive – by praising Selena Gomez.
Although Selena is insanely talented and will always be in our hearts and in our thoughts, she is not in these photos. So what is going on?
We need to step back a bit, and then some more. Let’s think first about Thursday, February 23rd.
Selena posted the above throwback Thirst Trap on Instagram, announcing she was “taking a break” from social media.
Selena wrote, “I removed it once because I thought maybe it was too much.” “But eh.”
Selena became even more relatable when she shared the news with the TikTok teen.
“I’m going to take a second off social media,” she advised her fans. Intelligent!
The concerning part came when she added: “‘Cause it’s a little silly and I’m 30. I’m too old for that.”
So what? Well, nothing that Selena can control.
Early last week, Selena reclaimed her crown on Instagram: She has the most followers on the photo-sharing app. Selena didn’t Doing Anything other than her charming, popular self to reclaim the title.
But it just so happens that Kylie was the temporary title-holder during this Instagram interregnum.
As far as what Selena actually did, she admired Bella Hadid’s beauty, identifying the model as her girl-crush.
She also confessed that she accidentally “laminated” her eyebrows.
Selena showed the unfortunate results to TikTok, revealing the chemical damage done to her eyebrows. Hopefully, this is only a temporary issue.
When someone as famous as Selena posts, you know people aren’t going to be normal about it. But you expect fellow famous people to be chill.
Then came this strange coincidence. Just three hours later, Kylie Jenner shared her “was it an accident?” Instagram Story, featuring her eyebrows.
And then it got weird… involving Hailey Bieber.
It appears that Kylie and Hailey’s eyebrows were zoomed in during video chatting.
How do we know this? Because Kylie shared a screenshot of the convo in her Instagram story. Obviously, she knew thousands of people would be watching.
Kylie and Hailey are friends. But what makes it weird is that Hailey’s husband’s most famous relationship before their marriage (and arguably to date) was with Selena. A few months before he proposed to Hailey, he seemed desperate to marry Selena (luckily to no avail).
As we reported earlier, several social media users posted their unbiased opinion about it.
Was it a shadow? Or was it some kind of incredible coincidence?
The latter is possible. However, it seemed to many that Kylie and Hailey were poking fun at Selena’s eyebrow problem.
But Kylie insisted she hasn’t seen Selena’s post, and critics are “reaching out.”
Selena agreed, writing that “it’s all unnecessary.”
She also added that she is a “Kylie fan.” Whether Selena really meant it or was attempting to diffuse a heated situation, we can’t say for sure.
And thus, many people are viewing Kylie with suspicion — if not outright loathing.
In a way, Hailey may feel hung up on her husband’s ex. How his proposal failed is not Hailey’s fault. He’s allowed to have complicated feelings about it. It’s weird for Kylie to lose weight.
But yeah, some of Selena’s cool fans (and maybe some less cool fans) are about to get a little extra in the immediate future. Selena gave Kylie the benefit of the doubt, but not everyone agrees.
