We have some sad news to report from the world of reality TV:
moon shiner Star Kenny Law has died at the age of 68.
News of his death came courtesy of Kenny’s cousin, Henry Law, who revealed that the Virginia-based distiller died at an area hospital on Tuesday.
Kenny Law’s cause of death
Sadly, Kenny spent much of his later years in hospital.
Although no official cause of death has been released, the reality star reportedly suffered from several health issues toward the end of his life.
His cousin told TMZ that Kenny struggled with diabetes and suffered a heart attack last year.
Henry Law says those factors, along with a recent blood infection, led to Kenny being hospitalized last week and possibly dying.
According to TMZ, “Kanye’s body is in shambles after fighting both the infection and his underlying conditions.”
Henry says funeral arrangements have already been made, another indicator that the death was not completely unexpected.
He told TMZ that a viewing will be held Friday, followed by a graveside memorial service the next day.
Career as a craftsman
Kenny was a regular player moon shiner Since the show’s debut on Discovery in 2014.
With Henry, he co-operated Law’s Choice Distillery in Franklin County, Virginia.
The cousins carried on a 200-year-old distilling tradition that was started by their ancestor Amos Law.
Many friends and fans have already paid tribute to Kenny, including his Moonshiners co-star, Amanda Bryant, who described the late as “a true moonshiners legend”.
“You will be greatly missed, it was an honor to know you and call you my friend. Rest easy big man,” Bryant wrote on Instagram.
“Prayers for the entire Law family during this time. They are all very good friends of mine and my heart breaks for each of them. Rest in peace Kenny Law always respect you very much.”
The fact that Kenny was expected to die doesn’t make it any easier for those who loved him.
And even though he has lived a very full life, 68 is still very young.
