It appears Kelly Clarkson has given ex-husband Brandon Blackstock a Christmas gift:
Some prominent shadows.
In promotion of her album “When Christmas Comes Around… Again” on Wednesday, the first-time American Idol winner posted an “official album visualizer” via YouTube.
This video shows four socks hanging above the fireplace.
Two of the stockings feature the names of the artist and Blackstock’s children — daughter Rivers, 10, and son Remington, 8 — while the other reads, “Mom.”
So far, so good and normal, right?
The fourth, as you can see below, is printed with the word “No”.
Not very subtle, right?
For those who need a refresher, Clarkson and Blackstock were married for seven years before separating in 2020.
When their divorce was finalized in 2022, the singer was given primary custody of their two children.
However, things went awry at various points, as Blackstock also served as his then-wife’s manager under his father Narvel Blackstock’s company, Starstruck Management Group.
Shortly after the talk show host filed for divorce, Starstruck sued Clarkson for alleged unpaid commissions and apparent breach of her agreement.
The singer countersued and ultimately won a $2.6 million legal judgment against her ex-husband in 2023, after a California labor commissioner ruled that the singer had overstepped his managerial role when securing four of her business deals.,
In short, according to Clarkson, her ex-husband stole from her.
Earlier this year, Clarkson filed a new suit… accusing Blackstock and her father’s company of violating state labor regulations. In May, the deportees quietly settled the suit.
Clarkson has gone after Blackstock in a similar passive-aggressive manner before.
For example, during a performance on her self-titled talk show in March 2023, Clarkson changed the lyrics of Gayle’s “ABCDEFU” to reference Brandon and her father.
“Forget you and your father and the fact that you got half/And my broken heart, turn that shit into art,” she sang.
Relatedly, Clarkson hasn’t dated publicly since her split from the talent manager… and her kids love it, as she previously said.
“They constantly bring it up: ‘Please, we don’t want you to be with anyone else,'” Clarkson told KSOT 103.5 listeners in November. “They’re young, so it’s hard to imagine their mother with anyone other than their father.”
