Kate Middleton and Prince William face some very difficult challenges in 2024.
But there have been good times amid all the obstacles, and the Prince and Princess of Wales are starting 2025 by focusing on the positives.
As you probably know, Kate spent much of the last year battling cancer.
She completed chemotherapy in September and has since returned to public life in a big way.
Kate’s big comeback
In recent months, Kate has been seen at many of her favorite events, including Wimbledon. Most recently, they hosted the annual Together at Christmas concert, which has become one of their signature projects.
Sadly, Kate was not present when William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte met Taylor Swift over the summer.
Yes, when her Erasure Tour stopped at London’s Wembley Stadium, Taylor took time out to pose for a selfie with the Prince of Wales and his eldest children.
And not surprisingly, that memorable moment was included in Will and Kate’s Instagram post celebrating their favorite photo ops from 2025.
“Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2025,” the couple captioned their annual Instagram carousel.
Commentators were divided on the couple’s decision to include Taylor in their memoir, but that’s only because it’s 2025, and social media users feel compelled to debate literally Everything These days.
Thankfully, everyone agreed that through the grace and poise she displayed in 2024, Kate showed that she has what it takes to be queen.
William previously described 2024 as a “brutal” year, and insiders have called it the hardest year of his life.
Kate Middleton and Taylor Swift: United by Tragedy
Apart from Kate’s battle with cancer, royal life coincided with Taylor’s second time together, and this occasion was not as enjoyable as their backstage encounter.
In July, young people attending a Taylor-themed dance class fell victim to a random attack by a knife-wielding attacker.
Taylor was quick to offer his support to the survivors and loved ones of the three children killed.
William and Kate later traveled to Southport, England, to meet the victims and their families. And Kate finished the year by inviting those affected by the attacks to her Christmas concert.
So even though Kate may never have had the opportunity to meet Taylor, the two women are forever bonded by her compassionate, courageous response to a senseless tragedy.
And we’re sure they’re both hopeful that better times will lie ahead in 2025.
