As you may have heard by now, Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance at the royal family’s annual Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday.
Kate is still battling cancer, and most observers expected she would not attend King Charles’ official birthday celebrations this year.
But the Princess of Wales surprised the world by standing with her family and waving to the crowd from the balcony.
It was a heartwarming moment that provided much-needed encouragement during a very difficult year for the royal family.
But is it too soon?
Is Kate Middleton ready to return to public life?
Obviously, only Kate and those close to her know what she is being treated for and how she is coping.
But it’s no surprise that royal reporters are closely scrutinising her Trooping the Colour cameo and using it to speculate about what could be next for the ailing mother of three.
First, Piers Morgan gave his unsolicited opinion on the situation.
Now, Katie Nicholl has warned Kate’s fans not to expect any surprise appearances in the near future.
During a recent interview Entertainment TonightNicholl predicted that Kate would take a “long and well-deserved rest” away from the spotlight once again.
“I think on a day like Saturday, when she knows the eyes of the world are on her, there’s going to be a lot more scrutiny on her, which will affect her,” he said.
“I don’t think we’ll be able to see him in public for a while. He’ll need some time to recover.”
Was Kate Middleton secretly struggling at Trooping the Colour?
Nicholl compared Kate to a “gliding” swan who was “swimming quite frantically under the water.”
He said that there was a moment when it seemed as if Kate had taken on more responsibility than she was capable of.
“She stood for a long time. There was a moment when she was watching the parade … and she was offered a seat, which she gratefully accepted,” Nicole said.
“It’s just an acceptance that she is no longer as strong and fit as she was before this treatment.”
We don’t think anyone expected Kate to recover from cancer treatment so quickly and be as energetic as before.
Significantly, Kate Middleton and King Charles appeared together at a time when they were both fighting the biggest battle of their lives.
And it would be impossible to exaggerate the effect that moment had on those who wish the royal family well.
