Justin Timberlake didn’t just try to bring back sexiness on Friday nights.
He also attempted to to get to win back the good will of fans around the world.
The singer returned to the stage on June 21 to continue his series of concerts for the first time since being arrested in New York for drunk driving.
At one point, while performing for attendees in Chicago, Timberlake spoke out about the arrest.
Not directly, we must stress.
But how else would you understand this statement by J.T. on stage?
“We’ve been together all the time, ups and downs, lefts and rights, and it’s been a tough week,” Timberlake told the crowd, as seen in a fan video shared on social media.
“But you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
The Grammy winner continued:
“I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep loving me and I’ll keep loving you too. Thank you so much.”
After being stopped by Sag Harbor police in the middle of the night on June 18, Timberlake reportedly referenced this world tour.
He told police he’d only had one martini before getting behind the wheel … he refused to take a breath test … and then mumbled that the incident would ruin his tour.
Prior to the latest Chicago concert, Timberlake broke his silence via a lawyer about apparently not making the right decision.
On June 19, attorney Edward Burke Jr. issued a statement that read as follows:
“Mr. Burke looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. He will have much more to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting the full investigation from the DA’s Office.”
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident that took place last week, while the local police released their own message following the arrest:
On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 a.m., Justin R. Timberlake, 43, of Tennessee was observed traveling southbound on Madison Street in a 2025 BMW, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel.
A traffic stop was conducted by a police officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle while intoxicated.
After an officer conducted a traffic stop, officers found that Timberlake’s “eyes were red and glassy, his breath smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, he was unable to pay attention, his speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”
Timberlake was later released without bail and will appear in court for a hearing in late July.
Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel is currently shooting for the Amazon Prime series The Better Sister in New York.
She was not with Timberlake when he was stopped and was seen on set in Manhattan a few hours after Timberlake was seen leaving the police station.
Beale has not yet commented on the arrest.
In late 2019, Timberlake was spotted holding hands with an actress in New Orleans, sparking rumors of infidelity and divorce.
The artist wrote on Instagram about himself and Alisha Wainwright, “A few weeks ago, I had a huge lapse in judgement — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my co-star,” and then added:
“I had too much to drink that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. That’s not the example I want to set for my son.”
“I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them in such an embarrassing situation, and I’m focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This wasn’t meant to be.”
