Josh Duggar ‘endangered’ himself by flaunting wealth in jail: report

Josh Duggar will likely remain in prison until 2032.

But it seems he made the most of the situation and adjusted to his life behind bars with surprising ease.

Yesterday, we reported on the fact that Josh was photographed in the prison courtyard, his first public appearance in over two years.

The most surprising thing was that he looked healthy and content and onlookers described him as “in good spirits”.

Josh’s conduct may have grabbed most of the headlines, but there was another side to the story that was overlooked.

Josh Duggar reportedly put himself at risk in jail

Obviously, there is nothing unusual in this.

But according to a new report Ok! Magazines, sunglasses and Under Armor sneakers – which can cost up to $120 – can put Josh in jeopardy.

A source told the outlet that inmates are not able to purchase such (expensive by prison standards) items from the commissary.

They can doHowever, if family members send them cash, “place special orders for sunglasses or sneakers from specific vendors”.

Attorney Adam Michael Sachs explains Ok! Prisoners who choose to wear name-brand items are putting themselves “at risk because other prisoners will want to steal it from you.”

“You need to be careful about things like this,” he said.

“Sunglasses are a luxury in prison, if you have anything nice, other prisoners will want it. You are preparing yourself for a fight.

Josh’s special state

Sachs says Josh’s willingness to openly display such things may be a sign that he has gained a bit of clout in the prison yard.

The lawyer said Josh “doesn’t care” about the risks and is just “hanging out, living his life.”

This isn’t the first hint that Josh may enjoy some kind of special status behind bars.

In September, he was upgraded to more comfortable living arrangements in the so-called “Honors” dormitory.

Such a privilege is generally reserved for prisoners “without any disciplinary action for a certain period of time”.

But Josh was recently disciplined for possessing a cell phone and other prohibited paraphernalia.

In general, it is especially difficult for sex offenders like Josh to go to prison. But it looks like he may still be benefiting from his family’s wealth and fame.
