It’s been over a week since Jinger Duggar’s memoir hit bookstores, and at this point, it’s safe to assume that everyone in her family has read it.
We know the idea of multiple Duggars reading a non-biblical book is hard to fathom, but their names were on this particular tome, and promiscuity is a powerful motivator.
Some members of Jinger’s inner circle, like Jessa Duggar, have chosen not to publicly acknowledge the project.
For a while, Ginger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, was suspiciously quiet about the book.
Now, though, he’s broken his silence — and like the evangelical preacher he’s training to be, he’s a little thick on the praise:
“Having lived his life in the public eye, he is a naturally guarded person. Many of you know this about him. But, he did it anyway. Why? Because she feels compelled to,” Jeremy wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
“He wrote this book for you,” she continued.
Now, it was certainly brave of Ginger to publicly reject some of her more backward beliefs, but let’s keep things in perspective here.
He’s a former reality star who signed a lucrative publishing deal and wrote a memoir; It’s not like she ran into a burning building to save a bunch of orphans.
Jeremy argued that Ginger wrote the book not for herself, but for “you who are hurting, you who are hurt by spiritual leaders.”
“She wants to encourage and defend people who are confused. She knew going into this whole process there would be tough questions. But she wanted to face them,” he continued.
“It hasn’t been easy. But God’s grace has manifested so clearly.
Jeremy concludes that, despite a mixed reaction from his in-laws, he remains in “awe” of his wife’s memoir.
“I have been left in awe of her eloquence, composure and strength. She has handled difficult questions so well – bold and courageous, yet kind and compassionate. Watching her has taught me a lot about grace,” she said. wrote.
“I am grateful that she is my wife and pray that her story will be a blessing to many of you.”
While Jesus preached the importance of humility, the Duggars have always believed it to be an overrated virtue.
While Ginger and Jeremy may have lost many of Jim Bob’s beliefs, it seems that his emphasis on the importance of self-promotion has really taken root.
We can’t say that we blame these two.
After all, Jim Bob passed down his kids with nothing more than a famous name — and Jinger might get one, too. Some From being raised in that wildly dysfunctional family.
As for Jeremy, well, he’s a supportive husband and pursuing strength at the same time, and we think there’s nothing wrong with that.
After all, this guy is trying to make it as a preacher in Los Angeles.
We don’t know much about the SoCal gospel scene, but it probably doesn’t reward shyness.
