Jennifer Lopez has spoken out about her divorce from Ben Affleck.
But it’s not very deep.
On Aug. 31, the singer/actress shared a series of selfies and sexy photos on Instagram, writing a simple and, frankly, powerful caption:
Oh, summer is here,
That seems like a massive understatement when it comes to Lopez’s personal life.
The A-lister spent little time with her estranged husband, sparking rumors of an impending separation several weeks ago.
Lopez and Affleck also put their home up for sale in June, making it impossible to believe a divorce wasn’t inevitable.
However, it seems J.Lo has left her romantic fate up to a higher power.
“Everything is happening in divine order,” he said in this new social media post.
The message comes 11 days after Lopez filed to end their marriage after two years.
In her divorce filing, Lopez cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup, listed the separation date as April 26 and said neither she nor Ben received spousal support.
The superstar and Affleck were engaged in 2004, but later ended their relationship and both began dating and married other people.
They rekindled the flame in 2021 and then eloped in July 2022 before hosting a massive wedding reception for family members and friends in Georgia.
At that time, it really seemed like a fairy tale.
Now, sadly, it’s turned into a nightmare… with some reports even saying the couple started having problems during their honeymoon.
By the end, Affleck — who has yet to say anything publicly about the divorce — was completely exhausted.
“Ben left the filing and the divorce in Jen’s hands, almost like a parting gift,” a source recently told In Touch Weekly. “She doesn’t really care and she gave up a long time ago.”
What an unfortunate conclusion, isn’t it?
Still, this union isn’t the most disappointing thing that’s ever happened to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Anyone who’s seen the movie Gigi knows what we’re talking about.
