Why are fans so unhappy with Jennifer Aydin this time?

Spending any New Year’s day at the airport is hardly fun. Apparently, it’s even worse if you’re serving food to Jennifer Aydin — or even standing in line behind her.

On Wednesday, January 1, she shared a video on her Instagram Story about a Jersey Mike’s employee — which has since appeared on a fan TikTok account.

Aydin complained that she felt “pretty crazy” after waiting in line for “what felt like forever”.

“When it came time to take our order, they took our order,” Jennifer Aydin admitted. “And then they took the order of the woman who was after me, but somehow they finished her order first. Made us wait. Okay, whatever.”

Citing an allegedly older employee, she complained: “And that 80-year-old guy who was working there took him almost as many times to cut that bread as it took us to wait.” [in] That line, God. Oh my god. Everything was slow.”

Aydin then claimed: “We are not complaining, we understand. It’s morning. you’re in a bad mood. It’s the New Year, you’re working. I will also get angry.”

It wasn’t just the staff; Jennifer Aydin also clashed with another customer

In what could be either an accusation of ableism or a fake disability (or both?), Jennifer Aydin said the employee behaved as if she “couldn’t hear” her. She also said she tried to add another sandwich to her order (for her son) as the employee was preparing her existing order.

“While she was making my sandwich, I put a tuna sandwich in for Jacob, and he said, ‘You have to wait. [in] Line up again.’ And I said, ‘Are you kidding me?'” she complained.

“And I asked the person behind me, ‘Do you care if I add a turkey sandwich for my son?'” Aydin recalled. “He’s like, ‘I mean, it’s kind of ridiculous.'”

During the video, Aydin refers to this other customer as a “stupid jerk”. He reportedly told her that he would sue her for recording the encounter.

In the video, the man accused her of wearing fake jewellery. Aydin apparently told someone else in line that he was a “celebrity.”

“Please, that loser,” Jennifer Aydin said dismissively. “Find me, a-hole.”

Feedback is easy to understand

Obviously, there are countless situations where a frustrated customer is right. For example, if someone doesn’t get food or their order is wrong, their fears are very justified.

However, there are countless examples of “the customer is always wrong”. Complaints about the airport’s Jersey Mike’s employee – including complaints about his age and hearing ability – appear to have merit.

One may end up with one of those rare food service employees who is genuinely hostile or otherwise unfit for the job. But if other people suit you Too Colliding with you, perhaps it’s time to question who is right and who is wrong in the situation.
