Jason Kelsey is opening up about his weight loss after leaving the NFL.

In March 2024, Jason Kelsey announced his retirement from football.

This was not during football season. This would have been easier for him if he hadn’t made any major changes to his lifestyle.

Still, he has lost weight and plans to lose even more. However, he does have some sensible limits on how much he wants to change his body.

Jason Kelsey has lost weight since retirement

On Wednesday, June 26, GQ Sports published an interview with Jason Kelsey in which he discussed his body and fitness goals following retirement from the NFL.

“I weighed 295 pounds for most of my NFL career,” Jason said. Until earlier this year, he played for a football team called the Philadelphia Eagles.

He then added that he is looking forward to “losing a few pounds.”

Importantly, Jason Kelsey made it clear that he has set limits on his weight loss ambitions.

He clarified that he “did not want to Very small” even though he no longer needs the mass and strength to do the job.

He said he has already dropped to 277 pounds, about 20 pounds less than he weighed during most of his football career.

Jason Kelce has a goal weight in mind

“I feel like, for some reason, I’d still be fat even if I weighed 250 to 260 and I’d still be happy with the way I look even without a six-pack,” Jason speculated.

He then added: “But I’ll still be able to achieve a little bit of that stature.”

Human bodies vary greatly. For some people, a weight of 250 pounds may be a sign of sudden weight loss and may indicate a medical emergency. For others, the weight may be a burden on their body that affects their health. When we’re talking about a 6-foot-3 former football player, 250-260 seems to be a good idea. just right,

Taylor Swift ‘s “brother-in-law” (no really) admitted that it’s “hard to imagine him losing about 20 more pounds.”

However, because of the decreased impact with men his size and the decreased weight, his back and knees “are already feeling better.” That’s a great start!

Jason Kelce then added, “So hopefully losing another 20 pounds will make me even more efficient at playing with my kids.” He and Kylee Kelce have three daughters.

“I’ve had my right knee rebuilt twice, I’ve had surgeries on my arm and back. I’ve had my toes broken,” he recalled.

He added: “There have been a lot of things that went wrong on my part, not to mention the fatigue and wear and tear that came from playing 13 years in the NFL.”

It’s likely that he will spend the rest of his life feeling the after-effects of his successful football career. In comparison, his weight loss is a footnote.
