Reigning ONE Atomicweight Kickboxing World Champion Janet Todd believes that ONE Championship, by making its fights accessible via platforms like Amazon Prime, is giving martial arts a huge boost.
‘JT’, who is also ONE’s interim Muay Thai Atomweight World Champion, shared this in an interview with ONE, highlighting how the promotion’s tactic allows the sport to be noticed by fans and non-fans alike.
Janet Todd said:
“I think ONE Championship, by making fights more accessible for people to watch on YouTube or watch on Amazon Prime, is helping to increase interest in the sport. I’m sure after people see it, maybe not everyone is like me, but they might want to start and see what it’s like.”
The American fighter added:
“I think ONE Championship is making it more accessible to people by putting it on platforms where we can watch all these fights for free.”
In April 2022, ONE and US streaming service Amazon Prime Video signed a multi-year agreement that would see 12 live, exclusive ONE events per year broadcast in North America.
The broadcast deal kicked off in August with ONE on Prime Video 1, which saw mixed martial arts legend Demetrious Johnson take the ONE World Flyweight title from former division king Adriano Moraes via fourth-round knockout. assault. Six more Prime Video fights have since followed.

Janet Todd last saw action in July, when she defeated Lara Fernandez via unanimous decision to claim the ONE Women’s Muay Thai Atomweight Interim World Title. Rodrigues, for her part, has only had one fight in the promotion to date, but it was a huge one as she defeated former world champion Stamp Fairtex via majority decision in August 2020 to become the queen of the division.
Rodrigues took some time out of the circle after giving birth to her son, but now she’s more than ready to take on Todd for the undisputed gold.
