Jade Cline has endured all kinds of personal drama during her years in the spotlight.
And now, it looks like she’s using what she’s learned to help those closest to her.
If you’ve been following her story from the beginning, you probably already know that both of Jade’s parents have been arrested multiple times on drug charges.
Now, the successful daughter is taking steps to ensure there is no more unnecessary suffering.
In a TikTok video posted to her page on Wednesday, Jade explained that she recently had an informal intervention and was able to persuade both of her parents to check into rehab.
“I wanted to go on here and just give you guys some insight into what I want you guys to hear from me before the media outlets and social media or whatever,” Kline told his followers.
“I’ve learned a lot about loving an addict, and I’ve learned a lot about boundaries,” Jade continues.
“It’s important to do what you do for your own mental health, and for the health and happiness of your family.
“Thankfully, both my mother and father said they felt rehab was something she really needed to get her life back on track.”
Jade didn’t mince words, and she affirmed that she suffers mightily as a result of her parents’ addictions.
“Growing up, I have a lot of animosity, and resentment toward addiction—the way I went through other people’s addictions,” she said.
“But I think one of the many things I’ve learned through therapy and through therapy is that anger doesn’t help, it’s just celebration. And what helps is understanding love and support and what’s capable and Being aware of what is helpful.
Jade reveals that she offered assistance to her parents, and is thrilled when they take her up on the offer.
“I basically told my parents, you know, ‘I think this is what you guys need and I’ll be here to support you and I’ll help you guys figure something out. Or something if it’s something that you guys really want to do and are really going to follow through with it,” he said.
“I’ll be there, like I was there with Sean,” she said, referring to her fiancé, who has also battled addiction.
“He’s proof that the program works, the steps work.”
In the caption of his video, Jade encouraged his followers to open up about their own encounters with addiction.
“Sending positive vibes! This journey won’t be easy for my parents but will definitely be worth it. Both my parents are doing great!” she wrote.
“I really appreciate all the messages I get from other people who have experienced the same journey,” she continued.
“I love reading messages about recovery success, but I also love being there for those who didn’t get to see their loved one go through recovery. Thanks for the support
