For several months now, rumors about a possible Meghan Markle-Prince Harry divorce have been continuously circulating on social media.
Most of these reports are based on nothing more than the fact that Meghan was spotted without her wedding ring.
For the most part, Meghan and Harry have chosen to ignore the rumors and hope they will simply go away.
But if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were eager to move on from divorce rumors in 2025, they probably aren’t too happy with what started this year.
Meghan Markle accused of buying memoir ‘after divorce’
As we previously reported, the couple were recently the subject of a scathing new report Vanity Fair,
The article examined Harry and Meghan’s career setbacks and, of course, it also touched on the rumors surrounding their marriage.
The most controversial paragraph concerned a book idea that Meghan reportedly purchased from an unnamed publisher.
“Meghan’s team spoke to a publishing house to gauge interest in the idea of a possible book. The concept, for which there was no written or formal proposal, was post-divorce,” journalist Anna Peel wrote in the article.
“Not a typical book on life after marital dissolution or about Meghan’s past experience. (She was married to producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2014.) This book — this notion of a book, really — may focus on Harry’s subsequent divorce.
Peel says there is no reason to believe that Meghan (or a ghostwriter) actually began work on such a book:
“If this seminal divorce ever happened, would this publisher theoretically be interested in the book that followed it? No proposal was ever made, and no manuscript was prepared. After all: there was no divorce,” she writes.
She also cites a source who completely denies this story and says, “If this were true to any degree, he would have been contacted, not the other way around.”
What’s really going on with Harry and Meghan’s wedding?
Elsewhere in the article, Peel cites sources who claim Harry and Meghan couldn’t be happier with their marriage.
“They’re very attracted to each other,” said an insider who “worked closely with the couple.”
“Like, you know how you meet couples where you’re like, based on the way they’re looking at each other, I probably shouldn’t be here right now?”
Needless to say, it doesn’t look like Meghan and Harry will be heading to divorce court any time soon.
But you can be sure that the rumor mill will continue regardless.
