PARIS (Reuters) – French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said on Sunday he would hand in his resignation to President Emmanuel Macron on Monday morning, adding that he would carry out his duties as long as needed.
Attal made the comments after France’s leftist New Popular Front coalition won a majority of seats in the second round of voting in parliamentary elections, leading pollsters said on Sunday, putting them on course for an upset victory over the far-right National Rally (RN) party but falling short of an outright majority in parliament.
